Happy Labor Day

Since we were supposed to be moving over Labor Day we really did not have any plans other than moving and since moving got pushed out we did more packing. Saturday Ken, Kohen, and I headed back to the house and we did some more packing/organizing. We actually made a day out of it,but we did not have any water. Ken spoke to the utility company on Friday and due to it being a holiday weekend and a bunch of other crap they could not even come back out until Tuesday the 2nd to shut the water back on. They are treating us like a new account and want 175.00 in activation fees and deposits. At this point we might not even have the water shut back on because we are hoping to close this week, Friday at the latest and my parents do not mind us staying with them. I guess we will see what happens.

Yesterday Ken's Dad and Elaine rolled into town earlier than expected because they were having to head back home early due to Gustav. They were visiting the hill country for a mini vacation, but that got cut short due to a house full of evacuees. This was their 1st time to meet baby Kohen. We all had a good time catching up and I will post some photos later when I get a chance to download.

After visiting with Papa Phil and Nanny Elaine, the kids, Ken, Papu, and I headed to the lake. The condition were prime for skiing when we got to the lake. The water was as slick as glass, but that only lasted for a while. We all got a little skiing in and then the water became choppy and then we tubed until it was getting close to sunset.

Today we will spend our Labor day actually doing labor. The plan is to head back over to the house today and continue to pack up the garage and etc. So, that's our big Labor Day plans. Hope everyone else has a fun and relaxing Labor Day.

Hook 'Em Horns!!!!!

I can not believe that football season is upon us again. I became a huge college football fan or shall I say Longhorn fanatic when I attended The University of Texas. Tomorrow is our 1st home game and I know the stadium will be packed. We will be steering clear of downtown and 35 tomorrow because traffic coming into Austin will be insane for the opening game. I hope that Ken and I will be able to at least take Kaden and Kensley to one home game this year. They have been Longhorns in training since the day they were born. Here's to a successful Longhorn season!! I bleed orange, how about you?? Hook 'Em Horns!!!

Approved

This afternoon our loan officer finally got our buyers approved. Finally, I think we can somewhat see the light at the end of the tunnel. Basically, our loan officer has to re-order their credit report on Tuesday and then submit their file to his underwriter on Wednesday. We are hoping to close on our existing home on Friday the 5th if not before then. Please keep those positive thoughts coming our way and keep your fingers crossed that this happens. Once we close on our existing home we can then close on our new home. We are hoping to have that done within 48 hours of closing on our existing home. So, at least we got some good news going into the holiday weekend and in a nutshell that is where we stand on the continuing closing saga.

Still no water and still no news

We still do not have water, so we are still camping out at my parent's house. I swear I am going to have to go on a diet once we return home. I have been eating non-stop since I arrived here yesterday. They have every snack food under the sun and I've been stuffing my face. I can totally see why the kids want to come here all the time:-) This morning my Mom spoiled me with a nice hot breakfast that consisted of breakfast sausage, biscuits, and a nice hot tall cup of coffee. YUM-O!!! I can not tell you the last time that I cooked breakfast sausage. I could so get used to this royal treatment.

On the house front we are still in the dark. No new news to report today. I am so hoping we hear something tomorrow and I also hope we can get our water turned back on before the holiday weekend. My fingers are crossed for some good news tomorrow. I will go nuts if we do not have some sort of direction going into the holiday weekend!!

Happy Birthday Kohen!! 3 Months!

Little Kowie is already 3 months old!! How crazy is that!! Yesterday she officially turned 3 months old. It is crazy to think how those last 3 months of my pregnancy seemed like they lasted FOREVER and yet the last 3 months of Kohen being here have just flown by!! Our little princess is growing like a weed and I am not sure if this is because she is our 3rd, but everything just seems to happen faster and faster with her. When I was at the Pedi on Monday I weighted her and she is now 13 pounds. She has grown and changed so much in 3 months.

Here are some highlights at 3 months:

  • Loves to smiles
  • Loves to coo and babble. She loves to talk to us
  • Laughing out loud. I love to hear her laugh and I could just listen to her sweet laughter all day
  • Graps things. She loves to grasp her mobile, her clothes and etc.
  • Can sit for short spells in her bumbo
  • Can lift her head up like a champ while on her tummy
  • Kicks and scoots when she is on her tummy
  • Is a drool monsters and loves to chew on her hands
  • Loves to play with her hands
  • Can rock side to side, but has not rolled over yet
Happy Birthday sweet baby girl. You are such a delight and we are so blessed to be your parents!!

No power, no water, and no phone

I woke up this morning and found out that our phone had been disconnected. Oooops, I forgot we requested a disconnect for closing day. I thought, oh well, we can live without the house phone since we both have cell phones. No biggie. Here comes the next hurdle. After a morning outing I came back home to find out that our electricity had been disconnected. By all accounts we were supposed to be in our new house tonight. Yep, I'm one of those efficient people who like to plan ahead and I figured since we were closing on the 27th I wanted to make sure that we had all of our ducks in a row and that we had electricity, water, dish, phone and etc transferred on closing day. Well, it has all come back to bite me in the booty since we did not close today. After getting our news yesterday on our buyers, I called TXU and told them to hold off on the disconnect/transfer because we were having some issues and that we needed to delay. They told me no problem. Well, I guess my phone call was pointless because they disconnected anyway. Ken called TXU for me since I could not look their number up on the internet and said they needed to come back out to reconnect and that this needed to be a priority since we had 3 small children at home. Well, priority did not mean a darn thing to them. By 1:30 I packed Kohen up and headed to my Mom and Dad's. It was starting to get hot in the house and I was not waiting there anymore without any power. Ken got home around 8 pm this evening and they had just cut the electricity back on. Wow, now that was FAST!! Yes, I'm dripping with sarcasm. Looks like I will be cleaning our the fridge when I am back home because more than likely the food is spoiled since the fridge was shut off most of the day. Ken then called and told me we now had electricity, but the water had been shut off. Oooops, we forgot to have the water transfer delayed. Ken ended up packing up and coming to my Mom and Dad's so he could shower. We are all staying the night now. Its one big slumber party. Tomorrow we will contact the water company and have our water turned back on. Thankfully, we can camp out with my Mom and Dad until everything is straightened out.

It has been a fun day indeed!! This evening we were contacted by our Realtor and our loan officer had taken on our buyers and is working on getting them approved. Things are going pretty well and we should know something by tomorrow/Friday if he is going to be able to get them approved. So, until then we just have to sit tight and stare at all of our boxes. So, say a little prayer for us and keep your fingers crossed that we can get this all straightened out. Hopefully, I will have some good news to post tomorrow.

No Go For Closing Tomorrow

Oh the joys of moving! Nothing like finding out 24 hr prior to closing that closing is not going to happen on the day you planned. That was the wonderful news we got this morning. So, today I spent most of the day cussing, crying, and just be totally irritated and way stressed. Our entire house is packed up and most of our upstairs has been moved downstairs. The kids' beds have been taken apart, their rooms packed up, my kitchen packed up, and etc. If we knew this was going to happen there is no way we would have packed up the entire house. I guess I now understand why they say it is not a done deal until the freaking papers are signed!! I feel like we got sandbagged big time!! Short story is that even though our buyers had been pre-approved and etc they ended up having some loan issues when their file was re-ran. So, now we are just waiting to see if they can get their issues resloved. So, now we may or may not be moving. I guess we are just going to have to wait it out. We should know something by this Friday. Fun fun... I HATE WAITING!!

Kaden Update

This morning the Pedi wanted to see us after I called and told them what had been going on with Mr. Kaden. It appears that Kaden has Rotavirus and since it is a viral gastrointestinal infection it has to run its course. The Pedi also told me he could be contagious up to 2 weeks and that we should limit being around others as he is still contagious!! She did give us a script for some probotics that should help restore some of the good bacteria in his intestinal tract. Hopefully, Kohen is safe since she got the RotaTeq oral vaccine last month. I will continue to keep my fingers crossed that she does not get it.

Time Crunch

I'm really feeling the pressure of moving today. We still have so much to do and so little time. I'm very overwhemled today and just can not seem to get anything done. I swear we are never going to get done packing!!! We have way too much crap that is for sure!!! Also, Kaden is STILL have stomach issues. He has woke up barfing the past 2 mornings and has spent his fair share on the potty today IYKWIM. Other than those morning barfing sessions he seems fine. He is running around playing right now. I am going to talk with the Pedi in the am. Not sure what is going on what him, but he is having a hard time kicking this bug. I'm sure they will tell me it will just have to run its course, but I will feel better after I talk to them since this has been going on a week tomorrow. Well, I guess I better get back to packing since we have to be out of here Tuesday night.

The Greatest Show On Earth

Attention ladies and gentlemen and children of all ages.....I think you get the point:-) After a morning and afternoon of packing and tearing apart the playscape we took a break and did something FUN!!! We took the kids to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus
along with the Hubbards and Auntie Chur Chur and Eric last night. The kids really enjoyed the show as well as the adults. However, the show was a tad long and you can tell by our family photo that the kids were getting restless. I think they were both crying in the pic. Oh well, we still manged to have a good time and stuck it out until the end. Here's a slide show of our circus adventure.

Kaden's 1st Sleepover

I figured I would blog about something other than puke, lol!! Here's my warning, this is a long post. On Wednesday night Kaden had his 1st sleepover and it went great!! Most of you know that the Hubs are not only our good friends, but are our next door neighbors. Our kids have literally gown up together since Courtney and I shared our pregnancies together. In many ways, it has been a bittersweet ordeal selling our house. Our kids see each other almost daily so it is going to be a little weird not just walking over to their house or vice versa to play and etc. One day Tyler told me with his big brown puppy dog eyes that he wanted to stay the night and sleep on Kaden's top bunk before we moved. Since I was watching the boys for Courtney on Wednesday evening, we put plans in place to have Tyler stay the night. So, here's what we did.......

We 1st stuffed our faces with our favorite pizza from Mr. Gattis

Then we watched Superman courtesy of Tyler. Tyler totally cracked Ken and I up during the movie. The told us what was going to happen scene by scene. Tyler and Kensley both talked about it non-stop. Ken and I laughed that if Tyler and Kensley married someday they would fight over who was going to talk 1st since they both love to talk:-)

No More Picture

We then baked the yummiest cupcakes. I figured why not have a birthday party. So, we did. I mean who needs a birthday to have a birthday party, lol. Yes, I'm totally crazy that way. The kids told me we needed to sing happy birthday to someone so, we sang happy birthday to the President. Goofy, I know, but it was hilarious hearing Carter and Kensley sing happy birthday to George W. Bush!!

After the cupcakes the kids were a sticky mess and I threw all 4 kids into the biggest bubble bath. While they were all foamed up, I then proceeded to spray them all with silly string. Of course, they thought that was wayyyyy funny, but honestly I think I scared Carter a tad.

After the kiddos had their bath, they then helped me bathe Kohen. Carter and Tyler were such big helpers. I gave them all jobs and Kaden got bored rather quickly and wanted Tyler and Carter to come play, but they wanted to help me with Kohen. Kaden is so going to have issues when he is older and he realizes that his friends only want to come over to check his sisters out. I dread those days and I'm stopping with that thought....

After bath, Kensley bossed Carter around and demanded that he play in her room. Being such the gentleman, he obliged and played baby dolls with Kensley. They played and played and played or shall I say, Kensley bossed, and bossed, and bossed. Let me tell you, she is a bossy little thing and I will feel sorry for her future husband someday.

After all the eating and playing, we finally settled down with some Wii Mario Kart. Tyler and Kaden would race and then Kensley and Carter. After several sessions, the door bell rang and Courtney was here to picked up Carter. We both asked Tyler if he wanted to stay and without hesitation he said YES!!! So, Courtney walked back to her house and a few minutes later Tyler and I followed. He had to make sure that Mommy was coming over in the morning for breakfast.

Back at the Thompsons, we played a few more games of Mario Kart and then I got the boys all ready for bed. I had already packed up the bedding for the top bunk, so I had to use some of Kensley's bedding. Tyler did not seem to mind the pink and white gingham sheets. We made it a little more masculine for him because we paired them with an army green sleeping bag. Tyler crawled right into bed and I laid down with Kaden on the bottom bunk. We watched a little TV and then the TV was turned off and lights were out with the exception of the night light and bathroom light. Kaden was out in no time. He was worn our from all the excitement. Tyler tossed and turned a bit and I got up and went and called Courtney and told her that he was fine, but I thought he was having a hard time falling asleep. However, Tyler never once asked to go home. I told her I was going to hop into the shower and I would check on him again and call her back. After I got out of the shower, I went back into Kaden's room and he was fast asleep. I called Courtney and told her he was out and that if he got up or wanted to come home I would call her in the middle of the night. I finally turned in and as I laid in bed I was so thinking, I am so not ready for our boys to grow up. Gosh, our 1st sleep over. What is it going to be like when Kaden tells me he wants to stay the night with one of his friends. I know I will stay awake wondering what he is doing and etc. I finally fell asleep and Thursday morning rolled around and success was in the air. We indeed had our 1st successful sleepover. I so wanted to take pics of the boys sleeping that night, but I feared I would wake them up so I had to pass on the pics. Kaden is already ready for Tyler to stay the night again and I think Tyler is ready for round 2 too!!

What is up with this bug??

This stomach bug just has me been boggled. So, I posted that Kaden was recovered. Well, I thought he was recovered. On Wednesday morning while Ken was home sick, Kaden took off booking it to the bathroom and he barfed all over he place. He had not gotten sick since Tues morning so we figured all was well, I guess not. After that episode he was then fine and ran around like nothing ever happened. Later that evening, I went on to watch Carter and Tyler for Courtney for a little bit(they already had this bug so there were no worries of them getting it again) and we all had pizza and cupcakes and he had no issues. Tyler even stayed the night,I will talk all about that in another blog post. So yesterday, Ken was feeling better and went back to work and Kaden seemed just fine. No more vomiting episodes. So, I was thinking good, we are finally over all of this crap. Yesterday my parents, the kids, and I headed to San Marcos to look at a bed I had found a few weekends ago at the Pottery Barn Outlet. Once we got there we did some shopping and the bed was a NO-GO because it was missing the rails and I was so bummed out. After Pottery Barn we got a pretzel and Kaden said he felt sick to his tummy and that he was going to throw up. "Oh no", I said and took off carrying him to the bathroom. Once we got there he did not throw up, so I put him on the potty to see if he need to go to the bathroom. Well, that did not happen either. So, we packed it up and headed back to Austin. Kaden started feeling better on the way home and wanted to eat soup at Jason's Deli. As we were walking up to Jason's Kaden looked right at my Mom and projectile vomited all over her shoes. It was soooo gross and really smelled. We loaded back into the truck and I swore I was going to get sick from the smell. After he got sick he felt better and insisted on staying the night with Nanu and Papu. My parents took both Kaden and Kensley and both kids have been fine and Kaden has not gotten sick again. This is so weird!! I started feeling not so well last night and I have not gotten sick yet, but I am incredibly dizzy. The room would not stop spinning last night and I'm still dizzy this morning. So, I'm just taking it easy and hanging out in bed with Kohen. Hopefully, my body just needs rest and will fight this mess off. We are moving next week and I can not afford to get SICK!!!

Another one bites the dust...

Kaden is recovered and now Ken has fallen victim to the bug. He started feeling bad yesterday and woke up running fever this morning with a not so well tummy. Ken is going to work from home today since 1. he feels like crap and 2. so he does not expose his entire office. The kids are excited that he is home today. Kohen and I are the only ones that have not fallen victim to this nasty bug so I'm knocking really hard on wood!!

Happy Birthday Papu!!!

The kids just got to sing happy birthday to Papu. Today is my Dad's 54th birthday!! Our plans were to celebrate Papu's birthday after Kaden's Kung Fu tonight, but since our little man is sick we will have a big birthday bash for Papu later this week when Kaden is feeling better. Kaden is totally bummed that he will not get to see Papu today to spray silly string all over him. So, it looks like we will get to drag Papu's birthday out for a few more days. I love prolonging my birthday so I'm sure Papu will not mind:-)

Happy Birthday Dad!! Here's a virtual silly string spray from your little monkeys. This will have to work until they can spray you in person!! Have a great day!!! We love you and can't wait to celebrate your birthday later this week!!!

Hellooooo Monday

Well, it is another fun Monday morning at the Thompsons. Kaden got up earlier than normal and Ken had not been gone for more than 5 minutes and Kaden said, "Mommy my tummy hurts." I asked him if he was hungry and he said, "No, I think I need to throw up." He took off running to the bathroom and the puke trail followed. I'm now guessing that he has the stomach bug that Kensley had a week ago today. Gosh, how long does this virus incubate??? He feels warms, but I can not seem to locate my temporal scan thermometer to take his temp and the rest of my digital thermometers are packed up somewhere. I might as well go ahead and give him some Motin because it seemed like sleep was the best medicine for Kensley when she had this junk last week. I hate seeing my babies sick:-(

Recovered

I'm happy to report that Kensley is feeling better and is back to her self. I guess that's the great thing about a stomach bug is that they are usually short lived. She was still feeling a little icky yesterday morning, but after a very long nap she was back to being 100%. She has been going and talking non-stop since:-) It also looks like the rest of us were spared of the bug. So far...knock on wood everyone is still feeling great with no signs of illness.

Here's a pic I took of the girls sleeping today. I thought this moment was too sweet and I had to run and get my camera. We all laid down in Kaden's bed and when every one fell asleep, I turned on the TV and watched General Hospital. So, that was some fun down time for Mommy.

Ewwwwwww

How can something so tiny spew so much puke?? Kensley totally puked all over us about 30 minutes ago. I was holding her and out it came. I was just glad that I was not holding Kohen or she would have been covered too. It was basically bile and water, but I was totally surprised at the amount. She has not eaten anything today and has only had a few sips of water here and there. I felt so bad for my poor baby. She has puke coming out of her nose. We both showered because we were covered and I could not take the smell. There is nothing worse than "the puke" smell. I put our PJ's on and we are sitting in bed. She is laying down and watching Yo-Gabba Gabba, Kohen is sleeping in my lap on the boppy, and well I'm blogging. I do not think I have sat this much in bed since the day I had Kohen. Thanks goodness for laptops and wireless internet.

Well we have been bitten

The stomach bug came knocking on our door as I posted my last entry last night. Yesterday evening Kensley did not want to eat dinner. I just figured that her molars were hurting her. You could tell she did not feel well, but I figured once we got home and she got a bath and some Motrin she would perk up. Well, that did not happen. After her bath she laid on the couch with Ken and almost fell asleep watching the Olympics. She then wanted me to lay down with her. So, I snuggled up with my baby girl and she was out. I got back up and started packing and then came to blog around 11 pm last night and as soon as I posted, I heard her yelling and choking. She was throwing up and it scared her. I think this is her 1st stomach bug since she was a baby so she really has no recollection of throwing up. I felt bad for her. I cleaned up her and she wanted to go back to bed. Ken and I were greeted at 6 this morning with more throw up and diarrhea. Once again we cleaned up her and since she had a fever I gave her some more Motrin. As of right now she is still sleeping. I hope she feels better soon and I hope the rest of us can remain bug free. I think I might just let Kaden stay with Nanu and Papu until the bugs runs it course with Kensley.

Bringing you up to date

Okay, let me do some back tracking here.
Thursday
On Thursday I took the day off on doing anything moving wise. The kids were just burned out and I was too. The Sartors rolled into town on Thursday and the kids and I met Karen and her crew at Chuckie Cheese. The kids really enjoyed getting out since I had been packing most of the week. They ran wild while Karen and I had a chance to catch up. It was like old times, but one of the musketeers was missing. The Hubbards could not join us because Tyler was sick:-( However, I'm happy to report he is feeling better now. Here are some pics from my visit with Karen.

Later that afternoon we had a playdate with our new friends from Houston, Kiley,Ben, and Wyatt. They just moved here and Kiley can so related to all of this moving mess. So while Kiley and I talked about moving, packing, and etc the kids played and played. The kids had a lot of fun playing with the boys and Kaden is already wanting to know when he can play with Ben again. Seriously Kaden did not want to leave their house!! Thanks Kiley for a fun afternoon.

Moving on to Friday. The kids were fighting non-stop and I could not make any progress around here so Nanu came to our rescue. She helped me with the kids, while I attempted to empty our attic in 105 degree heat!! I made a good dent and Ken helped me with the rest when he got home. I am trying to purge as much as I can because that means less that we have to MOVE!!! The kids went back with my Mom and Dad t0 stay the nice since we were having a yard sale with the Hubbards on Saturday. I would have some majorly traumatized kids if they hung around for the sale since I was purging some of their old toys they never play with anymore.

Saturday was hot and our yard sale was a bust. It was probably one of the worst ones we have ever had, but hey I made a little cash and ended up donating a ton of stuff to Good Will. We spent the rest of the day packing and Ken spent the rest of the day playing handyman since we had to fix some things from our inspection report. Kensley came back home on Saturday because she was not feeling well. Her dang 2 yr molars are still coming in on the bottom and they are really hurting her.

Well it is Sunday and the weekend is almost gone!!! Ken continued to play handyman while I took off with Courtney and Kensley for a little girls out morning. We packed up and headed to San Marcos to the Pottery Barn Outlet. I was in search of some big girl bed bedding for Kensley and I struck out. I was a little bummed about that, but Courtney found a super deal on Seven jeans and we both ended up with a pair and that was exciting.

So, there you have it!! I think I have now brought you up to date with daily life with the Thompsons:-)

Why Not.....

It seems that everyone else was doing a blog face lift so I jumped on the band wagon and updated mine as well. I really like this layout. It reminds me of a scrapbook page. Now I just need a cool siggy to go in my title.

House Update

Last night we had our inspection on the new house and everything went great. There are just a few minor things that need to be addressed, but nothing major. So, that was great news. Ken met the inspector at the house after work and the kids and I followed after Kaden's Kung Fu class. This was the 1st time that Kaden had seen the house and he was super excited and he loves his new room. He even wants to keep the paint colors. So, I guess that is one less room that needs painting. Actually, I do not think we will be painting anything right away. The plan was to repaint the entire inside of the house, but I think we have more than enough on our plate right now. New carpet will be installed on the day we close and I think we will be doing good to just get moved in. All of the rest of the stuff we want done will get done in due time:-) So, we only have a few more hurdles to cross(our current house appriasal and closings on both houses) and everything will be a done deal. Hopefully, everything else will continue to go smooth. Ken took a tons of pics last night so I just threw a couple into a slide show. Here ya go.....

We found a house

Looks like we have found a house. Yesterday I spent most of the day emailing, scanning, passing information back and forth to Ken, our Realtor, and etc. We had found a house over the weekend that we really liked, but were waiting for some information back from the selling agent. As soon as we got all of the info and got our questions answered on Monday we put in a contact that evening that and low and behold they accepted late yesterday. Everything is on such a fast track with this process and it has my head spinning and has me stressed!! Today we have the inspection on the house and pending no issues from the inspection we will be moving full steam ahead. I have continued to pack up the house. This weekend we are having a yard sale and then we plan to have a POD dropped and then probably another one closer to our closing date. Right now the plan is to do back to back closings. So, the 27th will be a super busy day. On our move in day Ken is planning to do some painting in the new house and once again just like every single house we looked at this one has carpet issues as well so we are planning to rip out all of the carpet and replace it. So, that is where the PODS will come in handy because our stuff can stayed stored until we have all of the new flooring down and are ready to unpack. Gosh there seems like there is so much to do with such little time. We have 21 days until we have to be out of here and I know that time is going to fly by!! I hope the inspection goes well today. I will hopefully have some pics to share since Ken took the camera with him. He is planning to meet the inspector this evening. Will update more later.

House Hunting and Bowling

HGTV sure does make house hunting looking easy. Trust me, this is no easy task. We pretty much house hunted all weekend. On Saturday we were ready to put a contact on a house and then we found out a contact had just gotten accepted. So, our search has continued on. Instead of house hunting this afternoon we dedided to have some fun. I think we all needed some down time. We took the kids bowling and I booked Kaden's b-day party. I figured we were there and I might as well go ahead and do it since these next few weeks are going to be crazy. We went to Mel's Lone Star Bowling Alley in Georgetown and this place is great!! The kids and Ken had a lot of fun and Kohen and I had fun watching. After we returned to the house, I started packing and the house is a mess. There are boxes and packing supplies everywhere!!! While I packed Ken grilled and the kids played on the slip-n-slide. They are loving having the house so messy. It is totally right up their alley. My misson is to just keep packing everyday becuase when we close on the 27th the new buyers are moving in right away so we have to be packed and out. So, we may have to put our belongs in PODS or storage unit until we can move into a new house. Talk about stress!! Well, I guess I better run and continue packing up!! I never realized just how much crap we own!!!

House Hunting

This morning I was in a really bad mood. I found a house that I fell in love with yesterday and after number crunching and etc we had to move on after debating/working hard for almost 3 hours on an offer. It really came down to taxes. We could have handled the bigger house payment, but once we added in the taxes and HOA it added several hundred more dollars on an already increase house payment. We would be really stretching if we took on that house payment. I was so bummed that we could not work out the numbers because I really loved the house. I was in a foul mood after that and everything else we looked at I did not like. So, that is how our house hunting day ended yesterday. However, today is a new day and our Realtor is really working really hard for us. We accomplished a lot today. We saw a ton of properties this morning and I just got back in and we are planning to go out again later today. I'm happy to report that right now I have 3 properties that would work for our current requirements.. They are all around the same selling price, which is good, but they are 3 very different houses and 3 very different neighborhoods.

The 1st home is in a great established neighborhood, but the house needs some updating(built in 1997). Really just needs new flooring and the rest can be done overtime. If updated, this could really be a great investment based on the area when we get ready to sell in a few years. I would not say this is my dream home, but its in a really great neighborhood and would fit our 4th bedroom requirement and with some new flooring and paint it could feel like home.

The 2nd house is a newer home(built in 2003) and I love the layout, paint, and etc. However, the neighborhood is a step down from the above, but the house is great. Don't get me wrong., the neighborhood is not bad,but part of wants to go with a more established neighborhood. Also the master is down stairs, which I know I would like when the kids are older, but right now I like being near them. Also, this house is in the Cedar Park area and I'm not sure that we want to leave the Round Rock area. Now that I am writing this all down I'm thinking this house is not a good fit.

The 3rd house is in a golf course community and I really like the house. However, this would take us out of RR ISD. The down side of the house is the carpet has been marked by a cat and that would have to come up with no questions. Also the view from the backyard is not so great. We would have a nice view of a toll road, but the house is really cute and I dig the flow.

So, this is our short list for now. We have other properties to view this weekend and this evening. My fingers are crossed that the right house just jumps out at me. Maybe I will have more news to report this evening after our other showings.
