Saturday With The Thompsons

Today was a super Saturday. It began by sleeping in. Yes, I said sleeping in. Kaden and Kensley stayed the night with Nanu and Paupu Friday night so hence is the reason why we got the opportunity to sleep in. Kohen and I slept in until 10:00 today. I had no idea that I could even sleep in that late anymore. I felt like a new person when I rolled out of bed at 10:00. After a cup of coffee, I started cleaning house since we had a showing scheduled for today. Once the house was put back into order Ken, Kohen, and I met my parents for lunch to pick up the kiddos. K&K were somewhat excited to see us and were super excited about our afternoon plans. Ken and I took the kids to see Wall-E this afternoon since we needed to be out of the house for the showing. The kids loved the movie and Ken and I both thought it was cute. Kaden loved that Wall-E was a collector of junk/trash. For those of you who know Kaden, know all about his junk obsession and Ken and I just laughed when we saw Wall-E's obsession. It totally hit home!! After the movie we came home and Ken went swimming with the kids while I hung out inside with Kohen. Kaden hit a milestone in the pool and of course, I had to grab the camera and video camera to document. Kaden is now able touch the bottom of the pool on his tip toes. He was so proud and Ken and I were too. He was so cute bobbing around and trying to doggie paddle. While I was outside taking pictures, Miss Kohen hit a milestone and I missed it. I put the little stinker on her side in the pack-n-play and when I came back in she rolled over and was laying on her tummy. So, this was our 1st side to belly roll. WTG, Kohen and Kaden on your new milestones. The kids and Ken worked up an appetite swimming so I grilled hotdogs and we had dinner on the patio and of course the kids loved that. This is what Saturdays are all about. Hanging out and having fun with the family!!

Ken chillin with the kids

Look Mom, I can touch the bottom!!!

Look Mom, I'm on my belly.

New Email Address

I know that most of our family and friends read my blog so I figured this was a good way to let you all know that our email address is changing. We are switching from Time Warner to AT&T so we figured we would just make gmail our permanent email address instead of setting up another one with our ISP, since it is likely to change again someday. I am planning on sending out a mass email from my address book, but my techie husband did some configuring with Outlook and now I can not send emails. So, tonight he is going to work on getting me up and running again and you will probably receive an email from us. Until then, here is our new email address so that you can update you address book. We will likley kill Time Warner at the end of the month so be sure to update or you will get a bounce back.

Our Growing Girl, Kohen's 1 Month Well Check

Today was Kohen's 1 month well check and what can I say.....We've got a growing girl!! Our sweet baby is now 10lbs!!! She is in the 90% for weight. I was blown away. We've never had a kiddo in the 90% for weight so this was new for me. Can I get a whoo whoo??...Momma's milk ROCKS!! Our little girl gained 1lb and 5 ounces in 2weeks. She also grew 1/2 inch. She is now 21.5 inches long and is in the 75% for height. Her head measured in at 37 inches and that is also in the 75%. Today our appt was really well and the Pedi was blown away on how much she is growing and thriving. Music to my ears:-) I love well checks. The only no so good news was on the clogged tear duct. The Pedi told me to stop the massaging. She told me it could actually do more harm than good. She said if the massaging was going to work it would have already worked by now. She told me just to leave it along and clean it for Kohen's comfort and keep an eye out for redness on the white of her eye. If I see that, then I am to call and they will then treat with antibiotic drops. We are hoping that the clogged duct will eventually clear up on its own and probing will not be necessary. Kaden and Kensley both had clogged ducts and I can not remember how long it took for them to go away. Neither one of them required probing so I hope Kohen does not as well. Finger are crossed. They also wrote a script for vitamin drops for her and then that concluded our well check.

Pedal Kensley Pedal!!!

Last night Kensley hit a milestone!! She learned how to pedal her princess trike to make it go forward and backwards. She was so proud of herself. Today when she saw Papu she ran up telling him that she could pedal her "bike." It was too cute. Here's our pedaling princess with side walk chalk on her nose.

Go Kensley Go. We are so proud of you!!!

Kohen Is A Month Old!!!

One Month Old!!!
Wow, Kohen is already a month old!! Time is just going by way too fast, but also in a weird way it feels like Kohen has always been here and that she has always been apart of our life. In keeping with the monthly birthday tradition celebration, I made brownies yesterday and after dinner we celebrated Kohen's 1st month of life with brownie sundaes and sang happy birthday to Kohen. Yes, I'm one of those annoying people who celebrate monthly birthdays until the child turns 1. I mean, I have to do this otherwise Kohen will look back on childhood pictures and ask me why I did it for Kaden and Kensley and not her. So, in keeping with tradition her are some pics:

Happy Birthday Sweet Baby Girl! We Love You So Very Much!!!

Happy Birthday Coutney!!

Hey Courtney,
Happy birthday!!!!!I hope you have a terrific day today!!!

Favorite person: That would be my hubby and best friend, Ken. He has given me the greatest gifts of my life, my 3 children, Kaden, Kensley, and Kohen!!
Favorite food: Mexican Food
Quirks about me: I talk fast and I talk a lot. I'm really bad about completing sentences and thoughts. Ken is always getting on to me for not telling the rest of the story. I guess I'm just easily distracted:-)
How would the person who loves you the most describe you in ten words or less? Loving, compassionate, empathetic, stubborn, competitive, carefree, impulsive, fun, nurturing, argumentative
Any regrets in life? I try to live my life without any regrets. You just never know when tomorrow might be your last day.
What can you NOT live without: internet
Favorite blog: I'm a blog addict and I enjoy reading them all so I really do not have a fav.
Something you can't get enough of: Hearing I love you from my kids. Those words from their sweet voices just melt my heart and can bring tears to my eyes.
Worst job you ever had: Back in college I cleaned my bosses Carver Yacht, Formula, and Fountain Boat as a side job for extra money. I hated it because 1 I had to clean which ever one he decided to take out for the day early every Saturday morning. So, that meant I had to get up super early so that the boat was cleaned and ready to hit the lake by lunch time, 2 it sucked being at the lake cleaning boats and not boating, 3 I was usually cleaning up puke and trash from the party the night before and that was just gross, and 4 it was hard work. These boats were not small boats!! So, that job sucked, but I was so broke in college that I thought it was well worth the 250.00 he paid me per boat.
What job would you pay not to have? Mortician
If you could be a fly on the wall anywhere, where would it be? I'll have to think about this one....
Guilty pleasure: Chocolate Sundaes
Got any confessions: I delete chain emails without reading them
If you had $1000 to spend on YOURSELF, what would you spend it on? Full day of pampering at a posh day spa with no spender/buyer's remorse:-)
Favorite thing about your house: My kid’s rooms. They are totally themed out and I have so many memories of working on their rooms and getting them all set up before they were even born.
Least favorite thing: mopping floors
One thing you are bad at: Math
If you could change one thing about your current circumstances, what would it be? That we would have zero debt...goodbye student loan debt, old debt, car debt...you name it:-) We would be totally debt free!!
Who would you like to meet someday? Not sure...
What makes you feel sexy? There's just something about stepping out of the salon with a fresh new do. I feel hip and sexy again even if it is only short lived:-)
Who is your real life hero? My parents
What is the hardest part of your job? Being Mommy 24/7. Being a Mommy is the most rewarding, but at the same time most challenging job:-) Even though it gets hard at times, I would not trade it in for anything in the world.
When are you most relaxed? When I'm asleep
What stresses you out? Hearing Kohen cry when I'm driving. There's nothing I can do about it and it stresses me out.
Favorite quote: Making the decision to have a child - it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking outside your body.
Why do you blog: It's an outlet for me. I like writing about our crazy days and plus it's a good way to keep family and friends up to date on what's going on in our household.

Nanu's Curls????

Did Kohen get my Mom's curly hair gene?? Kohen's hair is so curly when it is wet. I wish I would have gotten my mom's thick curls, but I ended up with my Dad's fine/thin/straight as a board hair. I hope Kohen's curls stick around. Here's our curly headed girl.

Kohen's Beautiful Smile

Here are a few smiles that I was able to catch on camera. Looks like Kohen is going to have dimples like her sister. There's just something about a toothless smile that melts your heart. It's so cute when Kohen give us a big smile. Her eyes totally squnich up.

Nanu Is Back...YES, help is here:-)

Yay!!! Nanu is back in town!!! It's almost been 2 weeks since the kids have seen my Mom and boy have they been having Nanu withdrawals!! I think this is the longest they have gone without seeing my Mom. Nanu got back into town last night and she came over today when my Dad pulled the boat over for the insurance adjustor to view. The kids immediatley ran up to her and showered her with hugs and kisses. Nanu we are gald to have you back in town!!! We MISSED you!!!

Baby /Dog Wearing

So that Kensley could be just like Mommy, Courtney made Kensley 2 baby doll slings and they are super duper cute!! Kensley loves wearing her babies. She is such a little Mommy. Since Kohen's arrival, she has been playing with her baby dolls more and more. Kaden enjoys playing Daddy too. I love listening/sitting/observing them play "house." It is so cute. However, it is a little scary too, especially when I hear my words coming back to haunt , lol.!!! So, here are some pics of my little Momma and Daddy.

3 Weeks Old

No, I did not forget that Kohen turned 3 weeks old yesterday. I was just a little preoccupied to update my blog. VoilĂ , here's our little sweet pea!!

Looking Up At Mommy

Batting her Bears
Our Sleeping Beatuy
Gotta Love That Squishy Baby Face

What's new with Kohen... let's see. She is starting to stay awake a little more during the day, she is starting to smile/grin and I have not been able to catch it on camera yet, she loves to eat all the time, and still enjoys bath time. She loves, loves, loves to be held and carried in the sling. It's amazing what I can get done while she's crashed out in the sling. I've also mastered nursing in the sling so that is an added bonus. She loves being on her tummy and just lifts up her little head like a big girl and loves looks around. I think her favorite sleeping spot is on my Dad's chest. She is so content there. Speaking of sleeping, she's really not on a sleeping schedule at night yet, but that's okay. I have learned to survive off of very little sleep. Oh yeah, she started batting/grabbing her little bear mobile that is attached to the pack and play while she's getting a diaper change so that was a pretty cool 1st!! Okay, I think your up to date on Kohen's 3rd week of life.
Happy belated birthday sweet pea!!!
We Love you!!!

Blazing Father's Day...literally

I hope all the Dads out there had a wonderful Father's Day yesterday. Our got off to a pretty good start yesterday, but boy do I have a story to tell and it's going to pretty much keep me busy on the phone all day today.

So, in a nutshell, our Father's day began with the kids and I bringing Ken breakfast in bed. After breakfast we gave Ken his cards and then talked about what he wanted to do today. Ken pretty much just wanted to relax and hang out. So, I was down with that:-) He wanted Chinese food for lunch and I'm not a big fan of Chinese food, but since this was his day we took him out for Chinese food for lunch and much to my surprise the kids gobbled it up. After lunch, my Dad called and had just gotten back into town from taking my Mom to her sister's. She had gone out of town for the funeral I mentioned in my last posting. Our plan was to take my Dad out to dinner later on that evening. My Dad was itching to go to the lake and I was game for staying at home with Kohen and letting Ken take the kids out to enjoy sometime on the water, but since it was Father's Day Ken wanted me to be able to go out with my Dad. Ken said he would stay back with Kohen, but I was hesitant to go because I've never pumped a bottle for Kohen before and I was not sure if she would even take a bottle. Well, Ken insisted that I spend some time with my Dad so I eventually broke out the pump. After, I pumped the kids and I hit the road and headed to Georgetown lake to meet my Dad. My Dad got the trailer backed in and I unloaded the boat and then went to the dock to pick him up. I was not planning on getting in the water. I did not even put on a swimsuit. I just had shorts and a tank on. Really, we had just planned to let the kids tube with my Dad. The lake was pretty busy so I ran the boat for a few minutes before my Dad and the kids got in the tube. I was looking for a calm place to kill the boat and get them all situated in the tube. I pulled over by the dam and the kids and my Dad got in the tube. So, off if took pulling them around and taking pics. We had not been in the boat for more than 15 minutes and I smelled something funny. I was just about to ask my Dad if he smelled it and then holy crap I see smoke pouring from our boat. Our freaking boat was on fire!!! I killed the engine and started looking for the fire extinguisher!! Black smoke was filling the boat and I was freaking out about the kids, my Dad, and of course my new camera. I opened the engine compartment and smoke was all in my face and I was afraid the boat was going to blow up. I could not get the damn fire extinguisher unlatched from the boat. My Dad pulled the tube up and got into the boat and by this time several other boats were pulling up trying to help up. I was on an adrenaline high and I threw my camera on another guys boat and jumped into the lake without a vest, clothes on , cell phone in pocket, breast pads and all to pull the kids out of the tube and into another boat. My Dad right away got the fire extinguisher unlatched and totally extinguished the engine. We then had to be towed back to the dock. Yes, we have more fun in store for us. We tied the boat off and got the trailer to the boat dock and guess what....our lower unit with a brand new prop will not come up. It hit rock and totally tore it to pieces. The lower unit was stuck and we did not know how in the heck we were going to get the boat up the boat ramp without ripping it off. The kids were in the truck, my Dad and I were manually trying to trailer the boat and it was just nightmare. As I was trying to get the trim up, I recognized one of my friends husbands from high school about to launch their boat and told them what happened. Matt helped my Dad straighten up the boat since I was not that much help and they were able to use a come along to get the lower unit up enough to pull the boat up the ramp. Thanks Becca and Matt for the help!! Your timing could not have been more perfect! Once we were out of the water I was finally able to call Ken from my Dad's phone. He could not believe what had happened. He told me Kohen took the bottle with no problems, but was a little gassy and was wanting to eat again. So, we finally headed home and I was able to fed my very hungry baby girl. Around 7:30 we finally headed to dinner. So, that is how we spent and ended our Father's day. Thankfully no one was hurt and we have insurance on our boat. We really have no idea what happened with the boat. We bought our boat brand new back in 2004 so it really not old, so.....I guess I will see what our insurance agent says. I'm off to make the claim since they were not open yesterday and off to try and order a new cell phone. Today should be a fun day!!!

2 Families That Could Use Your Prayers This Evening

I have 2 families that could use your prayers this evening:

My Mom headed out of town today to be with her family during this difficult time. Her cousin's youngest son was killed in a car accident early Thursday morning. His parents were notified of this tragic news while they were on vacation in Cancun. I can not imagine how long and horrible that plane ride must have been coming home . Curt was in the early prime of his life. He was only 20 years old and was on his way to fire school the morning of the accident. You only hope as a parent that your kids out live you. My heart and prayers go out to them. I hope and pray they can find comfort and peace during this difficult time. I talked to my Mom after the viewing this evening and the support from family, friends, and the community has been tremendous. There were over 1,000 people in attendance this evening and they are expecting the same for tomorrow's funeral service. I would truly appreciate if you added the Melton family to your prayers this evening.

My friend Heidi and her family could also use your prayers this evening too. Today is the 2nd birthday of their angel baby, baby Lucas. Today has to be incredibly hard for them. Heidi, I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers today. Please add the Ford family to your prayers this evening too.

Momma Got Streaked

Yesterday I went to visit my good friend Tabitha, who also happens to be my hair stylist. Tabitha has been cutting/highlighting my hair for almost 9 years!!! I LOVE her to pieces and she is super talented. I swear if I ever win the lottery I would hire Tabitha and pay her loads of money to fix my hair on a daily basis. Maybe one of these days Tab:-)

Anyhoo, I spent most of the afternoon with my Mom, Dad, Kohen and Tabitha yesterday in Tabitha's salon. Yes, my whole family goes to Tabitha as well. I'm telling you, once you find a good thing you know it!!!Ken watched Kaden and Kensley yesterday, while I got my Mommy pampering. It is amazing how good some fresh highlights and a hair cut can make you feel. I left the salon feeling like a million bucks yesterday!!! Thanks Ken for watching the kids and thanks Mom and Dad for holding and loving on Kohen while I got my hair done. Kohen seriously slept on my Dad's chest the entire time and I know he did not mind it one bit!! Shhhhh.... don't tell anyone, but I think he liked all the attention.

If you are in need of any hair services, I would highly recommend Tabitha. You will not be disappointed. She is a total perfectionist and you will be happy with the outcome. Stop by and check her out at Courtyard Salon. Her private salon is located directly to the left as soon as you come in the main entrance!!

Thanks Again Tabitha!!!

Hanging With Auntie Chur-Chur

On Friday I took the kids swimming over at my sister's and they had a blast. Her apartment has a really nice pool and a covered cabana/grilling area. Chur-Chur played with Kaden and Kensley in the pool and I sat under the nice cool cabana feeding Miss Piggy aka Kohen. The kids and Cheryl worked up an appetite swimming so we broke out the hot dogs and tossed them on the grill. After a fun morning of swimming and a perfect lunch we headed home before it got too hot for Kohen, The kids are already looking forward to going back to Auntie Chur-Chur's. Thanks again Chur Chur for entertaining the kids and for lunch!! Let me know when you are ready to take on the zoo crew again:-)

Already Friday???

The week has gone by super duper fast!! On Wednesday, Diana and her crew made a trip to Austin for dental appts and stopped by to see us. Our visit was cut short due to the dental appt so we ended up meeting up for dinner at Chuy's after their dental appt. We then talked them into staying the night. The kids played and played. They were so excited to see each other and Diana and I were glad that we got a chance to catch up. On Thursday morning, I headed out to Round Rock Bakery to get donut holes and chocolate donuts!! Yum-O. Btw, they are calorie and fat free..wink,wink!! After our healthy breakfast, we met Courtney and her kiddos at the Sprinkler Park. We did not stay for too long because the kids were pretty much toast from being up late the night before and I was worried it was too hot for Kohen even though I was in the shade with her. As we were leaving I noticed something running down my leg. Kohen's carrier was leaking and I was puzzled. Well, I looked in there and to my surprise, my little sweet pea was covered in puke. She threw up all over the place and it was leaking out. Not sure, if it was too warm for her outside, all the moving around, or if she needed to burp after I fed her. Needless to say, I felt bad. After lunch Diana and the kiddos headed home and me and my crew all took a 3 hour nap!!! Boy, I could so get used to napping during the day again!!!

Meet Lotus....

Okay, before you guys think I have gone insane, this is not our newest member of our family. Amber, our neighbor, asked if we could watch her 8 week old puppy during the week while she is working on kennel training. Kaden is in love and thinks Lotus is ours. Lotus is a cutie indeed, but I think I have more than enough to keep me busy:-)

Cordless......

Kohen is cordless now, lol. Her cord stump fell off this evening, but we do not know where she lost it. I went to change her diaper and it was gone!! I looked all around her and in her outfit and it's nowhere to be found. I will probably find it in the floor or some other crazy place days from now...lol. Gosh, I hope our dog did not eat it or one of the other kids.....gross!!

I Wanted All The Pics!!

Well, I'm back from Terri's and I was in love with all the pictures!! I had such a hard time making my selections. As soon as I saw the slide show, I was in tears because they were all so wonderful and gosh, we have such a beautiful baby!! I wish I could have afforded them all, but this time I stayed within reason and it was super hard. I got just enough to complete our family wall montage and I also got birth announcements and they are ADORABLE!!!! I've already got my eye on a package that I'm planning on purchasing when we go back in Nov/Dec for our next family picture. Terri's work is just simply awesome and I would highly recommend her if you are looking for a photographer!! Be sure to check out of her website and blog.

Wish Me Luck!!

Tomorrow I am going to meet with Terri to make our picture selections from Kohen's newborn shoot. I know I am soooo going to want all the pics, but I suppose I am going to have to be reasonable with my selections or I will be in the dog house with Ken:-) I might end up with a canvas of all 3 kids and some single shots of Kohen. Not just sure yet on what I want. So, wish me luck because I am so going to need it along with a little self control tomorrow!!

2 Week Pedi Appt

This morning Kohen had her 2 week pedi appt and it went great. We made it on time and were in and out of the office within minutes. Kohen gained 1lb in one week:-) She is now 8lbs and 11 ounces and falls into the 50-75% for weight. She has also grown 1 inch since birth. She is now 21 inches in lenght, which puts her in the 90-95%. Her head measured 36.5cm and she's in the 95% for head circumference. She also got her 2nd PKU screening done today and did not cry at all with the heel prick. The appt went very well and she goes back in 2 weeks for her one month well check. I'm happy to report we have a healthy and happy baby girl!! These are the type of appts I like:-)

Happy 2 week birthday sweet princess!!!!

2 Weeks Old Already???

Kohen will be 2 weeks old tomorrow!! It just seems like yesterday that we were heading off to L&D to confirm if I was in labor or not. I swear time is just whizzing by right before my eyes. Tomorrow morning I have her 2 week follow up pedi appt. My Mom and Dad did me a huge favor and offered to keep Kaden and Kensley for the night so that I only have to get myself and Kohen dressed and out the door tomorrow morning. Thanks goodness for my parents!! They have been a blessing and have made the transition going from 2 kids to 3 kids super easy!! I think they've made it almost too easy because they have helped us so much that I keep telling Ken we should have just one more child so we have an even number. He thinks I've lost my marbles and maybe he's right. I guess I'm still on a baby high. Anyway, our baby girl is growing and totally thriving. I think she just might be close to 10 pounds. I will know for sure tomorrow just how much she weighs and of course there will be a pedi update post. Here are a few pics of I took of her this evening.

Reddi Whip

After dinner this evening we all treated ourselves to chocolate sundaes and boy were they good!!! Daddy then showed the kids a very cool trick. Well, not too sure how cool I really think it is because now I'm going to have to hide the reddi whip!! They were laughing their heads off at Ken squirting reddi whip into his mouth. So, then Ken proceeded to squirt it into their mouths and now I have reddi whip all over my nice clean title floor that I just mopped today!!! Hearing their giggles was priceless and I could not help, but to laugh too. Oh well, I guess Ken will get to mop the floors again tonight:-)

Kohen's 1st Time In Bouncer

I'm a few days late on this post, but I'm sure you guys will excuse the tardiness. On Thursday night we put Kohen in her bouncer for the 1st time. She loved it and did not fuss once. Funny how all babies are different. Kaden and Kensley hated any type of vibrating motion. We never used that setting/function on their bouncer's, bassinett's, or pack-n-play's. However, Kohen finds this motion very soothing and the bouncer was a hit. Here are a few pics of her 1st time in her bouncer:

Protective Big Brother Kaden

The Many Faces Of Kensley

Yippee, I'm getting my blogging fix so brace yourself for a few new posts. Kaden,Kensley, and Ken are watching a movie and Kohen is sleeping. So, is it sad that I'm excited about blogging on a Saturday night or that we are actually home and ready for bed at 8:00 on a Saturday night? Well, this is our life and I could not be happier:-) So, do not answer my previous question..lol

I've had lots of fun playing around with my new camera and I got some really funny shots of Kensley and her various faces. Welcome to the many faces of Kensley gallery. You just can help, but to love this precious little face!!!

Austin Children's Museum

Kaden has been itching to go to the Children's Museum and since it is soooo dang hot here and too hot for Kohen to be outside we took a family trip to the Austin Children's Museum today. The kids and I have been to the museum several times, but this was Ken's 1st trip to the museum. Not sure who had more fun, the kids or Ken:-) The kids literally played themselves out and both took naps today, which is a rarity for Kaden. Here are a few pics from our adventure today. If you are in the Austin area and have kids this place is definitely worth checking out. The kids are sure to have a blast!!!

Congrats Sarah and Aaron!!!!

Today our good friends, Sarah and Aaron, welcomed a baby girl into the world today. June Elizabeth made her entrance into the world today around 11 am. She was 6lbs and 19inches in length. Mom and baby are doing great and I can not wait to talk to Sarah to get the full story. Congrats again Sarah and Aaron. Ken and I are so very happy for you and we can not wait to meet your newest blessing!!

Kung Fu Fighting....

Yep, I can't get that song out of my head. I was a brave Mommy today!! I ventured out to the mall with all 3 kids with the help of my Mom and we went to see Kung Fu Panda. Kaden loved it and is now on the quest for me to sign him up for Karate or some sort of Martial Arts. So, here in a few minutes I'm off to do my research for kid academy's in our area. We have been talking about signing him up for sometime now. Well actually, we have been talking about it since our trip to Japan a little over a year ago. I think now is the perfect time. Kensley enjoyed the movie until she feel asleep and Kohen...well, as long as she could nurse she was happy. I thought the movie was cute and gave it 2 thumbs up:-) Now, if I can just get the dang song out of my head!!!

Can't help but to compare

After I posted Kohen's longhorn link I had to back track and look at the other kiddos longhorn photos and compare. There's no denying they are siblings. It's amazing how much they all look alike. For your viewing pleasure:

Keeping With Tradition...Longhorn Pride

Little Longhorn Kohen

Here's the link to the hospital pics that we had made of Kohen. All of our other kids have had their newborn pictures made in longhorn attire compliments of Nanu and Papu. So, we had to keep with tradition. Here's our newest little Longhorn. Go figure....our kids will probably end up at Texas A&M, Tech, or out of state!!! I hope and pray that they stay close to home and I would love nothing more for them to end up at UT. However, I guess I should stop worrying about college and just enjoy them being babies:-)

I Love Looking At You!!

Today I have just gone nuts ooohing and awwwwing over Kohen. She is so beautiful just like her brother and sister. I just simply love everything about her. She is just perfect. There's nothing sweeter than her baby feet, the back of her little round head, her sweet little fingers and hands, and the list goes on. I could seriously stare at her all day and list the things I love!!!

My Daddy Wears Make-Up

Does Kensley have her Daddy wrapped or what??? He allowed her to put make up on his face and in return he got to do her make-up. Too bad it was Mommy's good mineral make-up. Oh well, make-up can be replaced and I got some priceless pics! Oh yeah, don't worry, when Kensley is old enough I will show her how to properly apply make-up. Otherwise, she will end up looking like a character from CATS if she takes anymore lessons from Daddy:-)

Back From Birthday Dinner

I had a wonderful birthday dinner. The food was super good and the kids did really well. Kohen slept almost the entire time. She woke up right before I had some birthday cake. I got to break out my nursing cover that Courtney made for me and it came in so super handy. I think I looked pretty trendy nursing in it instead of covering up with a baby blanket. Thanks Courtney!!!After dinner, we came back to the house and the kids insisted on staying the night with Nanu and Papu. So, my parents granted their wish and took both of the kids home with them for the night. Yes, they left me high and dry on my birthday!! Oh well, they will be back tomorrow so I guess I better enjoy the rest and peace and quite. Here are some pics from dinner:

Happy Birthday Kohen!!

Today my little bundle of joy is 1 week old!! So, of course I have to show her off. Here is princess #2 at 7 days old. This was just after a feeding so she is a littel milk drunk:-)

Today was Ken's 1st day back to work and my Mom is here helping me out today, so today has not been too bad:-) I got my b-day present last night and I'm in heaven!!! Ken and my parents went in together and got me an DSLR Nikon Camera. It rocks!! It takes pics super fast and I'm already ready to start shopping for a zoom lens!! I love, love, love this camera!!! I can't wait to play around with it some more!!! Here in a few we are going to go to Pappadeaux for dinner. As long as Kohen stays covered up and no one is in her face, I'm okay with taking her out. Going to Pappadeaux has become my birthday tradition so I guess I will brave heading out with the kiddos. We thought about waiting to go until this weekend, but the biker rally is going to be in town and it will be nuts. So, considering today is a Monday we should be able to get in and out with no wait. So, wish us luck. Ken, my parents, sister and Eric are going to meet us there. We will now need a table for a party of 9!!! Wow!!! I'll post more pics later from dinner.

Milestones for Kohen, Mommy, and Family

Gosh, it's hard to believe that Kohen is almost a week old. Tomorrow we will both have birthdays!! Kohen will officially turn a week old and I will be turning the big 31. The time is already going by so fast. I was just telling my Mom this morning I wish I could just stop time and live in this moment forever with all of my babies. Since, I can't do that, I'm trying to enjoy and treasure every moment that I can. See, this is why having babies is so addicting. There is nothing sweeter, rewarding, or more fulfilling that the miracle of life. It's such a natural high and only being a week postpartum, I've already found myself saying a million times that I could so do this one more time:-) Well, who knows what the future holds for us. All I can say is Never say Never...Ken is running for the hills right now...lol...he thinks I'm crazy!!!

Well, on with the title of this post.
Milestone #1
Yesterday we made our very 1st grocery store outing with all kids in tote. It went surprising well. We did have to push 2 carts. I pushed Kohen in her carseat in one and Ken had the kids and groceries in the other. Kohen slept the entire time!! I was super surprised. So, we managed to get in and and out in about an hour. So, our very 1st trip to the grocery store went very smooth. It will take a while before I am brave enough to try it by myself with all the kids. So, it looks like we will spend most of our Saturday nights grocery shopping for the next couple of months, but I'm totally okay with that.
Milestone #2
Kohen hit a very huge milestone last night. She slept for 5 hours straight!!! Yep, you read that right....she slept from 2:30 until 7:30 this morning. However, I failed to mentioned we were pretty much up nursing until 2:30 this morning, but she she finally crashed and gave me a break at 2:30. I'm thinking she must already be going through a growth spurt because she pretty much nursed on and off all day yesterday and has been attached to me for a good portion of the day so far, but I don't mind. Like I said, I'm trying to enjoy every moment like this could be my last...with the disclaimer of who knows what the future may hold of us:-)
Milestone#3
So, I weighed myself 3 days ago and I was down 15 pounds. Not bad for being only a few days postpartum. So, today I braved it again and I am now down 25 pounds at almost 1 week postpartum. By all means, I do not look great and my clothes still do not fit, but I was surprised at dropping 25 pounds in 7 days. I still have 11 pounds to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I know I will eventually get there and right now I have nothing, but time on my hands. So, needless to say, I was happy with my weight loss milestone.
