Life Size Dolls

I think these pics say it all. Kaden and Kensley insist that the baby doll bed and bath is just their size. I on the other hand think they are too big and tell them they are for baby dolls only, but it goes in one ear and out the next.

How can you argue with a face like that???

1st boating trip of the season

Well at least I got to go out once before Kohen's arrival. Today we decided to take the boat out for the 1st time since last boating season. It was a nice slow ride out on the lake. The weather was perfect and the ride was really relaxing. Trust me, we took it super easy and the kids had a blast just cruising the lake. They are really going to enjoy boating this season. I'm sure I will be sitting most of the season out this year due to Kohen's arrival, but that's okay. There will be plenty more boating trips in store for all of us. Now that we have been out on the lake, I'm sure Papu will have lake fever big time and I imagine he will want to be water siking in no time at all. As a matter of fact, I bet he buys a wet suit this week and has Ken out there pulling him next weekend.

We've Got a Big Girl.....

Kensley slept in her bed all night long and did not wake up until 7:45 this morning. I woke up several times to check on her last night and she was just snoozing away. I hope this is a new trend. I guess we will see what happens tonight!! WTG Kensley!! We are so proud of you!!!

Guess Who Is In A Toddler Bed???

The last couple of days I've been a rearranging/organizing monster. I've been detailing closets, cleaning out toys, cleaning under the bed, and etc. So, I got a wild hair the other night when I was bathing Kensley and she said she wanted a bed like Lesie. Leslie has a daybed and Kensley adores it. It was really weird how Kensley just mentioned her bed out of the blue. So, today the princess got what she asked for. We officially converted her crib to the toddler bed and I re-arranged her room for the 1st time since I set up her nursery. It was bittersweet, but having a change of scenery felt good. The toddler bed is cute, but I do not think it is a cute as the crib. I mean, when you take off the foot board you just have these non-decorative rails and it doesn't have a side rail to keep her from rolling out. I was a little disappointed in that since we paid like 700.00 just for the darn crib. Trust me, I will be more picky when we pick out Kohen's furniture. I tried call Munire to get support on converting it and of course they were closed. I tried looking all over the internet for an instruction manual and no luck. The instructions that came with the furniture were lame and did not tell us how to convert the crib only how to assemble the crib. This is supposed to be a 4 in 1 lifetime crib and I wanted to see what my options looked liked, but no such luck. We did purchase a conversion kit, but that is to convert the crib into a full sized bed and we wanted to hold off on that for a while. Everything I found on the internet said you do not need anything to convert it to a toddler bed. So, we just took off the foot board and it looks like that is all you have to do. Oh well, baby girl is happy with her new Lesie mini day bed and she is actually napping in it right now. Stay tuned...we will see how she does tonight!! I will post pics of her new arranged room as soon as she is up and I have everything cleaned up.

My Little Peanut Princess

The kids are busy playing with Kensley's dolls so I'm getting a chance to get my blog fix and post about Kensley's 2 yr well check yesterday. Well, our little princess is a peanut!! Seriously, she is in the whopping 5% for weight. She is a grand total of 22.12 pounds. For height she is in the 25-50% measuring in at 33 1/4 inches long and she's got a big ole noggin measuring in the 50-75% at 18 3/4 inches round. The Pedi we saw yesterday is not the least bit concerned about her weight and I was very thankful for that because another Pedi had mentioned at her 18 month well check that she might want to do some metabolic testing at her 2 yr well check if she did not put on weight. The Pedi said Kensley is healthy, thriving and she's hitting all of her milestone, she's just petiet. I think a lot of that has to do with genetics myself. I was a peanut when I was little and she's following the same percentile curve as Big Brother did so I'm not really concerned with the numbers. It also appears that Kensley is taking after Mommy, Daddy, and Big Brother in the allergy department. Yesterday the Pedi said that she has a really narrow nasal passage way and that it was really swollen along with her sinuses. We think the narrow passage way could be one of the reasons behind the re-occurring sinus, eye, and ear infections. So, we are now going to try a daily allergy nose mist to see if this stops the re-occurring problems that we have been experiencing. My fingers are crossed that this brings her some relief. Kensley did have to get a lead screening yesterday and she cried more about the band aid being all bloody than she did the actual finger prick. We ended up only getting one shot, her HEP A, and that was a plesant surprise because I though she was getting more. She was pretty ticked about the shot, but as soon as Nanu handed her a sucker she was all smiles. So, basically it was nothing a little candy could not fix. All in all we had a good appointment, our baby girl is healthy and thriving, and we go back at 2.5yrs for another well check.

Kaden's ENT appt yesterday

Well, let just say that his ears got a very clear and loud warning yesterday!! I hope they were listening. The doctor warned us no more ear infections or the tubes are going back in. His ear are clear and infection free for the time being and that is great news. We just hope it lasts. Basically, the ear infection he had 2 weeks ago was our 1st strike and if he ends up with another infection then we will have to replace the tubes. So keep your fingers crossed we stay ear infection free!!!

One dcotor appt down and 2 more to go

I'm glad I looked at my calendar today. My OB appt was today and not on Wednesday. My appointment was pretty uneventful which is good at this point. I am measuring right on target, carrying very low, and I only gained 1 pound since my last appointment. I'm up a total of 25 pounds and the doctor is happy with my sugars, weight gain, and etc. Kohen was very active and her h/b was 159. So, all in all good appointment. I now have 1 appointment down and 2 more to go this week. Kaden has a follow up ENT appointment tomorrow and we will find out if we are going to have to get a new set of tubes or not and on Thursday Kensley has her 2 year well check. Once again, it looks like we will have another busy week running from appointment to appointment.

Happy Easter

Hope everyone had a great Easter. We had a really fun day and an awesome lunch with Nanu, Papu, and Auntie Chur-Chur. I ate way too much and I have to be good for the rest of the week because I'm fearing my OB appt on Wednesday. I am afraid to get on the scales...yikes. Here's a couple of our Easter pics:

Does Your Easter Bunny Have A Criminal Record?

Before we went on our camping expedition yesterday, we headed to the mall to have the kids picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Well, as soon as we approached the Easter Bunny area we saw the Easter Bunny booking it up the escalator. Ken and I went to the photographer to see what was going on and upon arriving we saw a girl holding her baby saying something about his head and a guy saying something about pressing charges. I just sort of blew it off and figure mabye the baby slide out of the Easter Bunny's hands or something like that. I really though it was probably something accidental and innoncent and perphaps everyone was overreacting. The area soon became a huge scene and the cops arrived so we took the kids upstairs to the food court for lunch and blew off having the pictures made. The kids were pretty bummed so we told them we would take them back today. We got a call for a showing on the house today so we loaded up the kids and headed back to the mall this afternoon. Today there was no drama at the Easter Bunny station, but just some really crappy service and slow photographers. The photographer was busy chatting away and not pay attention that both of the kids were already in the Easter Bunny's lap and she missed the perfect shots of the kids before Kensley started crying. I had my camera on me and got a couple of good shots, but still had to pay 25.00 for the crappy crying ones too. I was a little hacked, but hey what can you expect from the mall. After we got home tonight, Ken started searching all of the news websites to see if a story had been reported yesterday concerning the Easter Bunny drama and BINGO. It made the 8 o'clock news last night and I felt so bad for the Mom and Baby after hearing the story. I now think I too would have wanted to press charges if that would have been one of my babies. The guy in costume seems to be a real jerk and it appears that this wasn't an innoncent accident after all. I guess the next time we take the kids to have their pictures taken with Santa or the Easter Bunny maybe we should ask if the person in costume has a criminal record, anger mangament issues, or warrant our for their arrest.

Friday Night Camping Trip

Kaden and Ken had their very 1st camping trip Friday night. Even though it was in Nanu and Papu's backyard it still counts. After Kensley's nap yesterday we all headed to Nanu and Papu's and Ken got busy pitching the tent. The kids had a blast. They played in the backyard and both got to ride their powerwheels all over the place. We grilled and ate dinner outside and then finally when the sun went down we roasted an entire bag of marshmallows. I was literally sick because I think I ate the whole bag. I was powering them down as soon as Papu roasted them. After sitting around the fire for a while and kicking myself for eating so many marshmallows, Kensley and I along with Nanu and Papu headed inside for some shut eye. I figured I would be woken up in the middle of the night by cold little hands, but much to my surprise I was not. Ken and Kaden slept on their cots in the tent all night long. Kaden had a ball and is ready to go camping again. I wish I had some pics to share, but we forgot and left the camera inside. Oh well, there will be many more camping trips in our future and we will be sure to take pics.

30 week belly photo

69 days and counting until Kohen's due date. I was officially 30 weeks yesterday. The kids wanted to pose with me before their bath this evening. So, here we are:

Easter Egg Hunting Round 2.....

The kids are worn out and that is a understatement. We had a very busy, but yet fun morning. Today we were all about partying. Yesterday our friends from OK came into town and prior to their arrival Courtney and I planned out a day full of fun for all of the kids. Gabby, Tyler, and Kaden were all running buddies before Gabby moved to OK. So, today was like old times:-) We started the morning off at Courtney's. The kids played outside and then got to open their goodies from the Easter Bunny. We then headed to our backyard for an egg hunt. Jackson was such a hoot. He though all of the eggs were confetti eggs and was trying to bust open the candy eggs too. It was way cute. I think the next egg hunt will just consist of confetti eggs. The kids enjoyed them way more than they did the candy filled eggs. After the big egg hunt we moved to the front yard for some hop scotch, side walk chalk, bike/scooter riding, and bubbles. For lunch we headed back to Tyler&Carter's and had pizza. The kids played and played and played. It was great. We ended the play session with a surprise birthday party for Jackson. He is officially 2 tomorrow. Happy Birthday Jackson!!! The cupcakes were a hit. All of the outdoor play balanced our the sugar and I have one sleeping princess on my hands and a very content, but resting 4 year old. Karen and gang are heading out to SA tomorrow so we are planning one more play session this evening. Brad is going to through down some burgers and dogs. YUM-O. The kids should sleep like rocks tonight!!

Peppercorn Brisket

Here is a simple recipe that is worth trying. One day I was watching Food Network's Robin Miller and she cooked this recipe so I looked it up on-line and cooked it for dinner tonight. It was a huge hit. However, instead of serving it as a brisket I shredded the beef and put it on wheat rolls and served the veggies and a cup of the gravy/sauce on the side. It was kind of like a French Dip. The kids loved dipping the sandwich and get this...even Kaden ate the carrots. I was so surprise that they actually ate it. The beef was so tender it just fell apart and made shredding super easy. I will definitely be making this again. It's super simple, yummy, and kid approved!! Peppercorn Brisket

Easter Eggs and Sugar....

Today Kaden had his Easter party at school and the kid is still eating candy!!! I can hear the toothbrush calling our name from the bathroom right now. All joking aside the kid got a ton of eggs and candy. This year Kaden was really into hunting the eggs and ran like a mad man to scoop up as many as he could possibly put in his basket. It was really fun watching. Kensley also participated in the hunt and with the help of Nanu she got a couple of eggs for her basket too. As we were leaving the hunt Kaden's kid logic and curosity kicked in and he wanted to know how the Easter Bunny laid eggs. He then asked me, "Does the Easter Bunny poop the eggs out??." I just laughed and said "Just like Santa he has helpers that make and then hide the egss." I guess my response was good enough because he didn't ask anymore questions and went back to eating his candy.

Excited and ready to hunt eggs

SCORE!! I found an egg

What to do on a rainy yucky day...

The weather is really yucky today. It's hot, humid, and has rained/sprinkled on and off most of the day. A front is supposed to be pushing through and I guess it has stalled or something. I opted to not leave the house because I did not want to get stuck out with the kids in a rainy mess. Since we were housebound we broke out a few games that we had not played in a while. We played Leap Frog Dominos and Hullabaloo The kids had a blast playing Hullabaloo. Kaden got the concept of the game and Kensley just had fun walking around on the pieces and dancing. In an attempt to keep them entertained we made some music shakers out of paper towel tubes and filled them with rice and glitter. They were a pretty big hit. I just now have to get Kensley to stop trying to eat hers otherwise I'm going to have a HUGE mess on my hands. Next we went on to make Some Bunny Loves You Easter cards. These are really cute and worth making.

Man, I'm tired now and should be napping with Kensley, but I'm here rambling and getting my daily blog fix. Here are some other fun Easter projects working checking out if you are stuck indoors today too:

Easter Arts and Crafts

Maybe after nap time we will bake some cookies or something and then we will keep our fingers crossed that it's almost time for Daddy to get home so he can take over entertaining:-)

Happy St.Patty's Day!!!

Maybe today will be our lucky day after all!! Happy St. Patrick's Day!! So far, I'm 4 for 4 in the good news department.

I took Kensley to the Pedi and her tubes are still in YAY. That's good news and she does not have an ear infection, but she does indeed have a sinus & eye infection. So, the news could have been that we had ear infections on top of that, but luckily we did not. Her eyes are doing much better today and they are almost cleared up and hopefully once we pick up her sinus infection meds they will kick in and get that all cleared up too. We go back for her 2 yr well check in 10 days.

Today our house has been on the market for 49 days and after a slow spell of showings we finally had a showing today. Yay!! Hopefully our Realtor will have some good feedback/news for us today. I'm not holding my breath for an offer, but since we at least had a showing it gives me hope.

Kaden had an awesome day at school and got all smiles. He made a really cute 3 leaf clover and did a St. Patty's Day cutting/matching project and aced it. I was very impressed and proud of him. Wednesday we have his Easter party at school and that should be lots of fun.

I just got a call from my OB and I passed my repeat glucose test. I'm so excited!! I had already prepared myself that I failed and would have to repeat the 3hr again for this pregnancy, but I passed!! Yippee!!!

Dreft is in the air....

I'm so excited because tomorrow dreft will be in the air. I now have a reason to run out and buy dreft!!! This evening we had dinner with my parents and they totally hooked Kohen up. They went on a shopping spree for her this weekend and brought us all of the goodies they had purchased for her. She will be riding in style with her new Britax car seat and she will be sporting some really cute newborn threads. Thanks Nanu&Papu for spoiling Kohen!! I will be stopping by Babies R Us after Kensley's appointment tomorrow to buy dreft so I can start washing all of her new clothes. As we were leaving dinner tonight, my Dad handed me a small box. I already knew what was in the box when he handed it to me and I almost cried, but I held my tears back because I knew if they started they would probably never stop. Kohen got her 1st set of diamond earrings. My Dad got Kensley a pair before she was born too so that is why I had an idea of what was in the box. Now it's official, all of Papu's girls now have diamonds.

Dino Dig

Me, Ken,&the Kids

Paul,Reece,Jen,&Haleigh

Last night Uncle Paul, Auntie JJ, Haleigh and Reece made a pit stop/sleep over at our house on their way to Corpus Chrisit for Spring Break. We headed downtown and had burgers at P. Terry's. If you are in the Austin area this place is totally worth checking out. I love the fresh squeezed lemonade with their yummy cheeseburgers and fries. YUM-O!!! After dinner we headed to Zilker Park with full intentions of doing the dino dig. However, upon arrival we realized the Nature&Science Center was already closed for the evening so we flew kites and headed back to the house hoping to revisit the dino dig tomorrow.

The kids were up and ready to dig this morning. Once again we set out for the dino dig and BINGO it was open. Super Dad aka our neighbor Brad recommended this place after he took his boys last weekend. Thanks Brad for the recommendation. All of the kids had a blast. If you are in the Austin area or if you live here and have children this place it totally worth checking out. They are open daily and it's free. Just click here to visit their website Dino Pit

Here are a few pics of our paleontologists

Ground Hog Day????

Do you ever feel like Bill Murray in Ground Hog Day?? I swear I am stuck re-living ear infections, sinus infections, and eye infections. Kaden is doing much better since he started his meds. So, we have him taken care of for the time being. However, now it's Kensley's turn!! Yesterday morning we woke up to pink eye in her right eye. Now, we have it in both eyes and a very yellow/green stuffy nose. It looks like I will be canceling her well check tomorrow and taking her in for a sick appointment. I'm betting she has a sinus infection on top of the pink eye. Grrrrr. I just wish I could keep both kids well for more than a month!! Oh well, despite the kids being a little under the weather this weekend they still had a blast visiting with their cousins. I just hope Haleigh and Reece they do not get pink eye since they are on Spring Break and on their way to Gigi's house.

Friday, March 14, 2008

Well, that didn't last long....

Today, I was supposed to get a maternity massage, manicure/pedicure, go shopping, and have a belated anniversary lunch with Ken, but those plans were quickly canceled this morning. Yesterday Nanu offered to have both of the kids spend the night so I could rest and enjoy pampering myself today. However, those plans quickly changed when I got a call at 7 this morning from Nanu. She had pretty much been up with Kaden all night. After they went to sleep last night Kaden woke up sometime during the night with his right ear hurting. After I hung up with Nanu, I called the ENT and got an appt with the NP today since our DR was not in the office. By the time we got to our afternoon appt today both ears had started hurting. I feel so bad for him. I remember how painful ear infections were when I was a child. I wish I could just take the pain away and make it all better, but I can't and we just can't seen to nix these darn infection. We are 7 days post antibiotics from the last infection and BAM...we are hit again. Kaden already has double ear infection and both tubes are out, but are still in his ears. We are on another 10 round of meds and we meet with the Doctor on the 25th to discuss the condition of his ears and see if we are going to repeat surgery and put the tubes back in. Hopefully, once we start the meds Kaden will get to feeling better and I'm not up all night long. Keep your fingers crossed!!!

4D Ultrasound Today

This was an awesome experience and it was so cool getting to see our baby girl at this stage. Yes, she is still a girl and is growing like a weed!! Her h/b was 159 today so it was back up to almost 160 where she has ran for most of this pregnancy. Kohen was much bigger than I expected. For some reason I was thinking she would look more like she did at my 20 week sonogram. I know that is silly since I have grown so much, but for some reason that was the mental image I had in my mind. She has grown so much in the last 10 weeks and she is very much into position. She is very low and head down!! The tech actually had a tough time getting 4-d images of her because of her position. She switched back and forth from 2D to 3D to 4D trying to get the best pics. Kohen was super stubborn and did not budge at all. They gave me juice, had me go to the potty, sat me up, turned me on my side, poked, prodded, and etc. She just wasn't having it, but I really did not mind. Since, Kaden turned breech on me, I totally had a appreciation for her position and I would much rather her stay head down than turn on me for this sonogram and get that stubborn edge and decide to not turn back:-) During the ultrasound she kicked a lot and put her hands up by her face. She also opened her eyes, mouth, and even yawned. It was so cool seeing that. At one point she actually opened her mouth at the same time her cord floated up and it looked like she was chewing on it. Pretty crazy to see that. Kohen has chubby checks, big eyes like her brother and sister, I also think she has a mouth like Kensley. She has a beautiful profile and it looks like she is going to have lots of hair like Kaden and Kensley did when they were born. We could actually see the hair floating on her head. Towards the end of the sonogram she put her hand up in the high 5 position over her face and would not move it. So, the tech tried a couple of times to get her to move it, but she would not cooperate. She was DONE and we were happy with our 30 plus pics and DVD. This was such an awesome experience and we can not wait to meet our beautiful daughter in May. Here are a few pics. The pics did not turn out the best since I had to scan and size, but they give you an idea:

Stop it...I'm done

2yrs old and such a big girl

A few weeks ago I got a potty seat sort of like this one for the big potty for Kensley. She really had no interest in using it so I did not push it. I just figured I would introduce it and figured she would eventually let me know if and when she had any interest in using it. One day when Kaden went potty before bath she said she wanted to go potty so I sat her up on the potty and then this started our potty break before bath time ritual. She would never actually use the potty. She would just sit on the potty and say all done. I think Kensley just liked the idea of sitting on the toilet, unrolling a ton of toilet paper, and then flushing the toilet. It's pretty funny what can entertain kids. Well, last night she must have wanted to prove the point that she was a big girl. She wanted us to sit her on the potty and once we did we heard the tinkle tinkle of little pee. Ken and I were shocked. We both made a huge deal over it and gave her a big high 5!! She grinned from ear to ear and said, "I went Tee Tee in the Potty." Kaden was already int he bathtub and his comment was, "Now Kensley you need to learn to go poo-poo in the potty." I just laughed and told Kaden to give her a break. We will take it one day at a time. She asked to go to the potty a couple of times today, but nothing until bath time again. Right before bath she sat on the potty and went tee tee again. So, I will just follow her lead and see what happens. If she stays interested great, if not I'm not going to push it with Kohen just around the corner.

A Day In The Life Of A Birthday Princess

Kensley's birthday started out at 4:34 a.m. when I sang happy birthday to her. She kindly rolled over and said "Mommy Stop It." Here's the not so happy princess being woken up from her beauty sleep:

After a couple of more hours of sleep we got up and headed to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Papu and Auntie Chur Chur met us there:
Daddy and his girl

Papu and Kensley

After a yummy breakfast we got a call from big brother and Kaden sang happy birthday to Kensley. It was very sweet. After the princess got serenaded we headed to Target and to the Outlet Mall for some girl time...shopping of course. After our shopping adventure I decided that we better come home and quit spending money before Mommy got in trouble. Once home the princess wanted to bake her birthday cupcake. She's Mommy little helper.

After we put the cupcakes in the oven we invited Tyler and Carter over for lunch and had a mini birthday celebration. Kensley was one lucky princess. She had 2 handsome boys singing happy birthday to her.

Anyone want a kiss??

After the princess woke up from her nap she she got pampered with a mani&pedi at the Spa of Mommy

Drying her nails

Nanu and Papu took us all to Outback for dinner and once we arrived back to the house it was present and cake time!!! Let the fun begin!!!

This princess already has a love for small boxes

Checking out her new James Avery bling from Nanu,Papu&Auntie Chur Chur. Nanu and Papu got Kensley her very 1st cross necklace and they also started her a charm bracelet. Auntie Chur Chur got her several charms to add to it. I think I will have a new obsession now...buying charms for her bracelet.

Cha-Ching

Thanks to Nanu&Papu, Kensley is now an offical member of the ride on club. Every princess needs a sweet ride.

Princess with her cupcakes&loot

Make a wish princess

Someone wash my hands and put me to bed. The princess is tired!!!

So, there you have it. A day in the life of one special birthday princess.

2 Year Ago Today...Happy Bithday Kensley

I'm stuck on memory lane and I promised myself I would not cry, BUT........So, here is my sappy sentimental post I warned you about. I can not believe that 2 years have already gone by. It really does just seem like yesterday that my water broke and we were off to the hospital. Kensley has brought so much sunshine to our lives. She truly is heaven scent. I do not think that her birthday could be more special. God blessed us with this beautiful baby girl on our anniversary 2 years ago.. By far, she is the sweetest gift that we have ever received and she will always remind us of the great love that we share.

Today Kensley is a far cry from the tiny newborn above. She is a walking, sassy talking, drama queen. She is sensitive and sweet, but can be all business in a matter of seconds. Being that she has an older brother she can defend herself quite well and can turn off the charm in a heartbeat and go into full blown terror mode without warning. She loves clothes, shopping, jewelry, make-up, a passion for shoes, and bows. Without a doubt she is all girl!!! Did I mention that she likes to pick out her own clothes too!! Boy, are we going to be in trouble or what??? She has a smile that lights up the room, the sweetest giggle, dimples that are too cute, huge brown puppy dog eyes, and pouty bottom lip that can pretty much get her whatever she wants.

Happy Birthday Princess!!!! We love you so very much!!! Okay, I better run because I have to get up at 4:34 a.m. to sing happy birthday to Kensley. I started this tradition with Kaden and every year I wake up, hug and kiss my baby, sing happy birthday to them while they sleep. I usually cry and turn down memory lane and think about the day they were born. I then take a picture or 2 and video them while they are sleeping. They look so innocent and sweet while they are asleep and that is a moment I love to capture each and every year. Yes, I will be like the Mom in the "I Love You Forever" book. I constantly tell Kaden and Kensley I'll love you forever I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living My baby you'll be. I'll be the crazy Mom that drives across town to sneak in their windows late at night and tell them I'll love you forever I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living My baby you'll be. Gosh, becoming a Mom has made me such a sap!!

8 Years ago today........Happy Anniversary

Well, it is midnight and here I am strolling down memory lane again. March 11th is a very special day indeed. 8 years ago today at 7:00 p.m. I walked down the aisle and married my best friend and the love of my life. Yes, I know it sounds cheesy, but so true. Ken and I compliment each other in so many ways and I could never imagine going through life without my soul mate. It's crazy how 2 individuals can balance out and totally complete each other. It really does seem like yesterday that we said our wedding vows and started this wild and crazy journey. It has been amazing and I'm looking forward to many more amazing years together. We have been blessed in so many ways and I am so very grateful.

Here are a few pics from March, 11th 2000

Ken,
I wake up each morning and I'm still proud to be your wife and the mother of your children. Thank you for all the years of happiness and working so hard to make all of our dreams come true. You are a wonderful husband and an awesome father. I'm happy to know that even though I'm always right and this pregnancy has made me more of a "know it all" I'm still your best friend and you still put up with my crap. I love you so very much and I'm looking forward to many more years of happiness. Yes, I still look forward to growing old with you.
Happy Anniversary!!! I love you!!

Today's OB appt

My appointment went really well today. I got the results back from my FFT and they came back negative and that was a huge relief. I'm also still not dilated so that was more good news. Since I have had the on again off again cramping and pretty much constant pelvic pressure they are now scheduling my appointments every 2 weeks. The doc suspects that all of the pressure is due to this being my 3rd pregnancy, carrying lower, and Kohen being head down...YAY!! They told me today she was head down and bouncing all around. Let's just hope she stays head down and does not pull a Kaden and turns breech on me at 38 weeks. Her h/b was 140 today. That was down from her normal 160, but nothing to be concerned about. They said it was probably just her position. I'm up 24lbs and the doc was happy with the weight gain. So, that's all of the good news and at my next appointment we will sign off on all the paperwork for my repeat VBAC. Now, here comes the not so good news. I have been spilling sugar so I get the joy of repeating the glucose test to check for diabetes again. Fun Fun. I have to go and repeat the hr test this week. They have already prepared me that I will probably fail and will have to do the 3 hour test again. If I fail the 3 hour test, then I will have to start checking my blood sugar again, seeing the Perinatologist weekly, and sticking to a pretty strict diabetic diet so I can avoid going on insulin. Around 28 weeks was when I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes with Kensley, so I have a feeling I'm about to repeat history. However, my fingers and toes are crossed that this is not a repeat.

Tomorrow is Kensley's birthday and Ken and I are getting up early to take her out to breakfast tomorrow morning. Kaden is staying the night with Nanu and Papu tonight so Kensley will have all of our undivided attention for her birthday breakfast. Tomorrow will be a special day!!!

A Beary Good Time

Photobucket
Here's a big THANKS for everyone that took part in our baby girl's birthday festivities yesterday. I can officially say that everyone spoiled her to the max. The Build-A-Bear party was a huge hit and Kensley had a beary good time. All of the kids had a blast picking out their animals and building them. Kensley picked out and stuffed a shaggy puppy dog that she has named Scruffy and Kaden stuffed a turtle with a backpack shell and named him Fivle. It is amazing how fast the time goes by and I can not believe that our little baby girl will be officially 2 on Tuesday. Of course, I'm saving my sappy sentimental post for then.

After we all got finished assembling our animals we headed up to the food court for pizza and cake. By the time the kids were done with the cake I think most of them were on a sugar high and energized. Kaden and Kensley finally crashed last night and they are already looking forward to the 11th. We will be doing a family celebration with Nanu and Papu and Auntie Chur Chur. I'm sure we will go somewhere to eat and then come back to the house for cake and gifts. Tuesday is also our 8th wedding anniversary so we will be celebrating that as well. As you can see the 11th is a pretty special day in our house.

Soccer Season Has Come To An End

Today was Kaden's last soccer game for the season. He had a really good practice before the game today and Ken and I were commenting on how he finally got dribbling the ball down for his last performance of the season. However, he could have been showing off a little for Nolan and Leslie since they attended his game today. He was a trooper and hung in all 4 quarters today. However, when we entered the 3rd quarter the drawstring on his shorts got pretty interesting, but he managed to stay on the court. After the game was over Ken and Kaden headed over to the awards ceremony party and I headed home to put Kensley down for a nap. Ken and Kaden had a lot of fun at the party and Kaden was super stoked to get his "Golden Medal." Hurray, we made it through our 1st soccer season and Kaden says he wants to play again. So, we will see if he is still interested come the next sign up.

My little scare yesterday!!

So, this little toot is already working her Momma over. Yesterday I woke up not feeling too well. Just really tired, worn out, and my lower back was aching. After I started moving around I started feeling a lot of pressure in my pelvic area and then pressure in my tail bone. I kept figuring it was nothing so I kept on about my day. My Mom was helping me with the kids because I had to finish up some shopping for Kensley's birthday party on Saturday evening. Around 3 yesterday the pressure really had not let up and I had drank a ton of water and was still not getting any relief. So my Mom finally talked me into calling the doc. They wanted me to come in right away to make sure I wasn't in pre-term labor. They ended up checking me and I'm not dilated, which I am super thankful for. I do not want Kohen to come this early!!! They did the fetal fibronectin test and I will get the results on Monday. Basically, this test can help predict if I am going to going into labor with the next 2 weeks. I have another Dr appt then and they plan on checking me again to make sure nothing happened over the weekend that I was not aware of. In the end they decided to not hook me up to the monitors because I wasn't having any painful contractions, but just rather a ton of pressure. They told me to go straight to L&D if I get any painful contractions over the weekend. Kohen was moving around a lot and her h/b was in the 160's at the appt so that was good news.

This morning I woke up feeling much better. I'm still having some pressure in the pelvic area, but that's about it. I think the intense pressure from yesterday was just the position she was in. She must have liked that postion because I was hurting clear up until I went to bed last night. I normally would not have been concerned about all the pressure yesterday, but it was the aching in my lower back and pressure on my tail bone that had me a little scared. I remember that feeling when I needed to push with Kensley so that is what eventually freaked me out and made me call the doctor. I'll be sure to blog about my follow up appt on Monday. I think all is well and she was just giving Mommy a hard time. The little toot just like her brother and sister is already worrying me and giving me heck. Go figure, I guess she gets it honestly. I hope she stays put and does not move back into that position again today!!!

Fed Ex Man=Happiness

Ding dong went the door bell, couple of screams from the kids, a barking dog, and one federal express package does = one very happy almost 2 yr old!!! Today Kensley got her 1st birthday present for her second birthday. My very thoughtful cousin Amy sent Kensley an Ariel Water Baby and I have one very happy camper of a 2 yr old. After Kensley ripped into the package she kept saying "FOR MY BIRTHDAY MOMMY." She was so proud of her new present. To my surprise she even shared with brother. She let him play with Flounder, the water squirter. After I read the instruction on how to fill the baby up with water both kids wanted to take a bath with Ariel. So, since it was raining outside and even sleeting a tad I figured what the heck. Today, I'm okay with Kensley taking a late nap. So, we headed off to the bathroom and filled the tub full of bubbles. Both kids jumped in and played with Kensley's new toy. Miss Mommy gently got her baby out of the tub and dried her off with a wash cloth and then wanted Mommy to dress her. I happily put Ariel's clothes back on and then got Kensley and baby Ariel down for a nap. Thanks Amy, Jim, and kids. The doll was a hit!!!

Our Slumber Party Is Over & Daddy's Home

All I can say is thank goodness for Moms!!! Ken left on Monday for a business trip to Dallas and Nanu stayed Monday and Tuesday night with us. The help was awesome and totally appreciated!! The kids loved having Nanu around 24/7 and I loved having all of the help. Here are some silly pics from our slumber party. They were playing with one of Kensley's favorite things....MAKE-UP

Yesterday we had another appointment filled day. I had a dental cleaning yesterday morning and I'm happy to report everything looked great. I always love getting good news. I also got a call back from my cardiologist and everything checked out perfect on my echocardiogram that I had done last Friday. I was a little concerned because the procedure took almost an hr last Friday and I've had several of these done in the past and I did not recall them taking that long, but I guess they were just being thorough. So, it appears all is well with the ticker and they will see me back in a year.

After my dental appointment, we had lunch over at Cental Market and met up with some friends and enjoyed the playscape, a nice lunch, and some beautiful weather. As soon as we wrapped up with lunch we headed over to the ENT. Glad all of our appts were within a mile radius. It appears that in the 2 weeks time that we last saw the ENT that Kaden's tubes are not longer in. They are both sitting on top of his ears drums. The ENT wants us to wait about a month and come back. He said the tubes should migrate out and he can pull them out if they do not fall out on their own. So, in a nut shell the tubes are no longer performing any function. I'm to be on the lookout for ear infections. If we start getting ear infections again then that will be bad news and we are to head right back to the ENT. The ENT hopes we can make it through spring without any problems. However, if we start getting ear infections again, then we will have to schedule surgery to have new tubes put back in.

On to today....Daddy got home around 4 and we were all super excited to see him. As usual, he came home with gifts for the kids and they were giddy with excitement. Papu and I made enchiladas for dinner and they turned out pretty dang good. I'm sure come midnight I will be having heartburn from you know where!!! After we all ate Nanu and Papu headed for home and we headed outside to let the kids play. They wanted to play with sidewalk chalk so we now have some really nice artwork in our drive way:-) We spent the rest of the evening detoxing my car AKA cleaning it out and taking apart the car seats for an over due washing. The final touch to our evening was flagging down the ice cream truck for fudge bombs. Yum-o!!!

Productive or Nesting???

I think it is too early to start nesting, so I'll just chalk this morning up to being really productive. I think I was inspired to"Just Eat The Frog" after we took on some dreaded tasks yesterday that we had been procrastinating on. Yesterday, we planted 2 new trees in our front yard and cleaned out the garage so that I could park in it again. It's amazing how good it feels to have a clean garage and some new trees in the front yard. Am I weird or what??? Hum, maybe it's just the pregnancy hormones:-)

After I dropped Kaden off at school and kissed Ken goodbye for his Dallas trip, Kensley and I got down to business. First, we did the dreaded task of paying our taxes. I just figured, what the heck. We are going to have to pay in so I might as well go ahead and just pay to get the monkey off our back. So, after I finished up with the IRS, I filled out the pre-registration forms for hospital for Kohen's birth. Yes, one more task down. I even got the paper work in the mail today. Yippee, I was on a role so I just kept going. I got Kensley's cake ordered for her birthday party this weekend, made dental cleaning appts for Ken and I, cleaned a bit and got laundry started, and then last, but not least, scheduled our "Family Bonding" 3-d ultrasound for March the 12th at 5:15. Ken and I figured we would go ahead and opt to have this elective ultrasound done since this give us a chance to see and bond with Kohen a little more before she arrives. We are so excited for the 12th to get here so we can see our sweet baby girl again. I can't wait to post those amazing clips and pictures of her on the 12th. Ken and I both wonder if Kohen will look just like Kensley or if she will be her own little person. It should be very interesting to see. Well, time is wasting if I am on the computer so I guess since I'm on a role I will keep going and see what else I can get done today.

27.4 weeks Belly Photos

So, here I am baring it all well....showing off my almost 7 month belly. On April 5th we are having professional maternity pictures done and I am sure I will be a house by then. Oh well, we figured we would splurge since this is probably the last time I will be pregnant again. I'm really excited about this photographer and I'm excited to see the final outcome of our photo shoot . She really has some awesome work. If you are board you can check out her site. Just click on the link below, click on portraits, then portfolio and keep going until you see maternity to view her awesome work http://www.masonphoto.net/

On Wednesday I will be officially 7 months. This pregnancy has flow by!!! As you have probably noticed from my pregnancy ticker we have 87 days to go until Kohen's due date. WOW!! That will be here before we know it.

So far we have enjoyed the weekend. Kaden had a soccer game yesterday and he actually played all 4 quarters without playing airplane in the middle of the court so we were pretty happy with that. Next Saturday is his last game and then we will have an awads ceremony/celebration and he will get a medal. He is super excited about that. Nanu gave him all of my sport medals one day when he was at her house and he loves them. So, he is super excited about getting one of his own. Ken and I asked Kaden yesterday what was his favorite part about playing soccer was and he told us the pictures. Silly boy.....
