Kaden's Dental Appointment

Today we had a dental appointment for Kaden and I am happy to report no cavities. So, that was the good news. However, the bad news is that Kaden is going to take after Mommy in the permanent teeth department. It looks like I better start doing my research on an orthodontist because we are so going to need one. I was blown away when we looked at Kaden's X-Rays today. First, I was blown away that we could actually already see his permanent teeth. I had no idea that they were already hanging out under his baby teeth. Secondly, I was floored when I saw how they are planning to come in once he looses his baby teeth. They are coming in just like mine did. Totally sideways and crooked!! It was like looking at a spitting image of my teeth when I was a kid. I was in braces for about 6 years when I was a kiddo and I'm so thankful for my straight teeth today, but I was so hoping the kids would take after Ken in the teeth department since he has perfectly straight teeth. The dentist said we would just let nature take it course and see if they straighten up and if not then we will just plan on braces. I really love our pediatric dentist and I know they will keep an eye on his teeth and point us in the right direction at the right time. Their office is awesome and I would totally recommend them to anyone in the Austin area. So, here is my shameless plug for Dr. Sherwood's office They totally cater to kids and Kaden loves going so that is a huge plus!!! Hopefully Kensley will love to go to the dentist as much as Kaden loves going. We will see how she does at her second appointment in August.

Tacos and Tax Time...

Yesterday after nap the kids and I ventured out to Old Settlers Park to enjoy the 90 degree weather. I was burning up and actually wore shorts yesterday. However, I probably blinded some people in the park because my legs are so pasty white right now. Oh well, I'm pregnant, hot, and have a right to wear shorts even if my legs are stark white. We had a lots of fun playing on the playscape and attempting to fly Kaden's Spiderman kite. The kids threw in the towel on the kite and finally I just had to come to terms with not getting it all the way up so I then threw in the towel and we headed for the swings. Auntie Chur-Chur met us at the park and the kids really enjoyed seeing her as I did too. She has way more energy than I have right now, so I was very thankful for her entertainment. After the park we headed back to the casa and I made tacos for dinner and helped Auntie Chur Chur with her taxes. After we finished her taxes, I got a wild hair to start ours and now I'm wishing I had not. What is the saying, "Your doing good if you break even and doing great if you get a refund..." Well it looks like we are not going to falling into the good or great category. Yes, Ken will be checking my handing work and if all stands as is then we will wait until the last minute to file since we will be paying Uncle Sam instead of him paying us.

Good Food and Good Weather......

Today was an awesome weather day. It was around 80 degrees. Isn't that crazy!! The kids enjoyed playing outside and having lunch with Nanu and Papu. I decided that I was tired of eating out so I invited Nanu and Papu over for lunch. I slow cooked a pot roast overnight, made homemade roast gravy, green beans, a veggie tray, and Papu brought over his famous mashed potatoes. Lunch rocked and I ate way too much. For dessert I made Hershey brownies and I just wish they would hurry up and all be gone. I have snacked on them all day today. NOT GOOD!!!

Papu and Nanu took Kaden to Petsmart and we now are the new owners of 4 designer hermit crabs. I say designer because they spent 50 bucks on hermit crabs!! Can you say SPOILED?? Kaden told Papu he could name the crabs since he paid for them. That was pretty cute. One day this week I will take some pics of our new crab family.

After Kensley's nap we took the kids to the neighborhood park and they loved playing chase with Daddy. After we burned off some excess engery we came back home and Daddy grilled hotdogs for dinner. We ate outside for the 1st time since probably the end of summer. It was nice to be able to grill out and enjoy eating on our patio again.

Okay, brace yourselves now.....I'm 26 weeks and 4 days today. I've grown quite a bit since my last belly pics posting. Yes, I need to stop eating brownies!! I can not believe that on Wednesday I will be 27 weeks. Wow, I'm already almost 7 months. I have less than 100 days to go until Kohen is born. That means, I will be a Mommy of 3 in about 94 days and that is if Kohen does not come early and arrives on her due date. Boy, this pregnancy has flown by!!!!!

The kids wanted to pose with me and of course Kaden was being silly. They love to hug my belly and then ask Daddy if he has a baby in his tummy. I find it humorous, but Ken does not:-)

26 weeks and 4 days

Soccer Pics

Yesterday Kaden had a 9:30 soccer game and we got his soccer pics back. They turned out great so I though I would scan in and share. I wasn't sure how Kaden would do yesterday since we missed last week's game due to the flu, but he did pretty good for the most part. He was really into the 1st 2 quarters, but fizzled out after halftime. So, I bribed him to help his teammates out during the last quarter since we were short handed by giving him 5 dollars to play. Well, let's just say that kept him in the game until it ended:-) He has 2 more games left for the indoor season and he is already wanting to play outdoor soccer next. So, as long as he is interested, having fun, and is wanting to play I will be willing to let him try it out next year.

Goodbye Flu

We finally all said goodbye to the flu this past Monday. I'm am very happy to report that we are pretty much almost all back to normal now. Kaden is still on 2 antibiotics for the bacterial infection in his ears and he will finish the med in 5 more days and then we will see if we need to see the ENT again for drainage. As of yesterday his ears were still draining, but nothing like they were a few days ago. So, we will let the meds finishing running their course and see how his ears look then. We do however go back on March 4th to have his tube placement checked. On Monday when the ENT had to vacuum out his ears he noticed that one of the tubes was tilted and the infection might have ended up pushing it out so we will check that out on the 4th. On Monday I had to go to the doctor for a horrible sinus infection. It was one of the worst I've ever gotten in my life. I hope and pray I never get one of those that bad again. Today is my last round of meds for my sinus infection and I'm feeling much better. Just dealing with a hacking cough and lots of snot, but hey I can totally handle that! Ken is next on the list to finish his meds. He ended up with a sinus infection post flu too and in a few days he will be done with his round of meds. Kensley is med free and clear and now if I can just get her to stop picking her nose life will be great. The nose picking was a nice habit she picked up while she was sick and now she will not stop. Hopefully it is a phase and it will pass.

On Wednesday, Nanu came over and helped with the kids and gave me some much needed relief. We were all so excited to see Nanu!!! Thanks Mom for helping me out. I totally disinfected and cleaned the house so that it was germ free and was show ready again.

Yesterday the kids and I took it pretty easy. After much begging they got their wish and got to play with Tyler and Carter for a few hours yesterday morning. It was the 1st time that they had seen them in 10 days so they were really excited to visit and play. After lunch we all took a nap and then went to Target and I got a replacement Roomba. I can not wait to use it this morning!! Our other one broke and we had been without one for sometime now and I'm very happy to have a new one. Gee, is it sad when you get that excited about a vacuum cleaner??

Well, TGIF!!!! We are looking forward to a fun Friday and a sick free weekend!!!!

Valentine's Day 2008

I will slowly, but surely get my blog updated. I'm happy to announce we are all feeling better so here's my 1st attempt on updating:

Our Valentine's Day this year was not full of little cupids and love, but instead full of fever, snot, and the flu. Man, how can you beat that?? Just kidding:-) We also missed Kaden's party at school so we were bummed. Despite everyone not feeling well, we took the lemons we had been given and tried our best to make lemonade. Ken and the kids surprised me with a dozen red roses and chocolate. So, my morning was off to a pretty good start. The night before Kensley's fever spike to 105 so we all had a pretty restless night and I let both kids start Valentine's Day morning out with some chocolate and then they opened their Valentine'd Day gifts from Mommy and Daddy. I then made them some heart shaped waffles, which they barely touch and I think after that we all probably went back to bed. Here are some sick pics of my babies from Valentine's Day.

Both Babies feeling crummy. Can you tell Kensley did not want her picture taken?

Later that day Nanu and Papu had to go and pick up some more meds for their flu so they did a gift and dash and left Valentine's Day presents on our doorstep for Kaden, Kensley, and Kohen. I've said it a million times, but I do have the best parents in the whole wide world. The kids all got money for their savings, new DVD's, each a stuffed animal, and tons of candy. Mommy even got a Valentine with some mommy money in it too!!Thanks Nanu and Papu for all the Valentine's Day loot. It made our day!! For dinner Daddy brought home pizza and by then I had the full on flu too and was ready to hit the hay. Oh yeah, on Valentine's Day 9 years ago Ken proposed to me. Who knew 9 years ago that today we would have 2 beautiful children and 1 on the way. Gosh, time sure does fly by.

Well I've been bitten and feel like crap!!!

Looks like my immune did as much fighting as it could do. I'm pretty sure I've got the flu. When I'm feeling better I'll tell you all about our rough night last night and our Valentines Day. Poor Kaden is having heck with his ears and now is having bloody discharge. We are soaking cotton balls about every 20 minutes. We have to see the ENT tomorrow so they can see what in the heck is going on and run cultures. I hope I can get my butt out of bed to make the 9:20 appt. I feel like crap so I'm going to bed.

Is there a health fairy??

Is there such a thing as a health fairy?? If so, can you send her my way. So far, all is well with me, but my babies feel like poo. They both have had temps of 102 on and off all day. As soon as the Motrin wears off the temps creep back up. Kaden's temp was 103 point something earlier this evening and we had to put him in a cool bath to bring it back down. I feel so sorry for them. Here is the icing on the cake....Kaden's left ear is now draining and he is crying with an ear ache. Thank goodness I have Floxin drops on hand. Hopefully, the drainage and pain will stop and an infection will not sit it or guess what?? We will end back up on antibiotics to clear up the infection just like we did back in January. It is amazing how quickly these darn infections can sit in. Just like our last visit to the ENT all was clear and bam double ear infections the next day. Today the Pedi said his ears were clear and looked great, but now they are draining and he is crying with pain. So, please, if you happen to see the healthy fairy send her @XX to my house.

Add 2 more to the flu club....

So, it looks like I am surrounded by the flu. I took the kids to the Pedi this morning and they both tested positive for the flu. Bummer!!! We have been instructed to stay home until the kids finish their 5 day round of tamiflu. I've been instructed to stock up on vitamin C, wash hands, disinfect, drink plenty of fluids, and basically just pray like heck that I do not catch it. Trust me, my finger and toes are crossed. If anyone has any creative tips on how to keep the kids entertained inside for 5 days or any good natural flu preventative methods for a preggo girl to do just drop me a line:-)

Right after lunch both of the kids had around a 102 fever. You would imagine that they would be wiped out and tired after their dose of Motrin. Oddly enough, Kaden is still going full steam head with droopy eyes and is wanting to play in the water outside and go to the beach. So, I guess I'm going to have to get creative and bring the beach inside. Poor Kensley felt awful and we both took a nap. She is still napping so hopefully she will feel better when she wakes up.

The pedi mentioned that this year the flu stand is a tough little bug. They are seeing some cases where the strand is being resistant to the tamiflu. I hope that is not the case with us!! We have been instructed to keep an eye on the fever, be on the look out for the snot turning green, and a worsening cough. If the kids get any of these symptoms we are to head back to the Pedi to make sure we are not catching bronchitis or pneumonia. Today Ken is actually feeling worse than he felt yesterday and he is already on his 2nd day of tamiful. Hope he sees a turning point tomorrow. I better run and get some stuff done before Kensley wakes up.

Long Night Ahead.....

Well, it looks like I'm going to have a long night ahead of me. Kaden hit the wall around dinner time and started feeling bad. He now has a temp of 102 and Kensley's temp is starting to creep back up. However, I have to hold off until 10 to give her more motrin. I guess I better hit the hay since it looks like I could very well be up all night. Is there such a thing as spraying too much Lysol?? Ken and the kids have been yelling at me and telling me it stinks:-) Hey I'm trying to protect myself as much as possible, but I might be fighting an uphill battle. I'll update after the Pedi appt tomorrow.

Yep, we have the flu

Ken just got back from the doc and he's got the flu. I just got off of the phone with the Pedi it's a good chance Kensley has it with her symptoms. The Pedi said that they have seen several cases this season where kids have gotten the flu shot and still got the flu due to the different strands. I will be taking both kids to the Pedi to get tested tomorrow. From what I understand after talking to the Pedi is that if the kids start tamiflu within 12-48 hours of the 1st symptoms of the flu it can shorten it or even prevent it. So, fingers and toes are crossed!!! The bads new is that if I get the flu, I will just have to stick it out since I can not take tamiflu while being pregnant. So, the doc told Ken to stay away from me and sleep in a different bedroom. So, we can accommodate that, but there is no way in heck that I can keep the kids away from me especially when they are sick. When Mommy duty calls, Mommy duty calls. Let's just hope I have a super immune system. So, I will continue to disinfect, wash hands, and load up on vitamin C!! Wish us luck because we are going to need it. Welcome back from vacation and HELLOOOO reality!!

Flu, Flu, and more Flu

Looks like the flu is all around us. Baby #1 Aka Ken is sick with what we think is the flu. He is at the doctor right now. So, in a few minutes we will know for sure. A few people that were on our Tahoe trip came down with the flu and they were the people we basically spent most of our time with. Papu is sick too. He actually went home from work early yesterday because he was not feeling well. Anyone that knows my Dad knows that he never gets sick and never goes to the doctor. Well, guess what....he actually went to the doctor today and he has the flu and is on a 30 day round of meds!!! The doc said he basically had borderline pneumonia. Nanu is flu free right now and they started her on a 10 round of tamiflu so that hopefully she does not catch it. Both of the kids got their flu shot this year, but I guess that does not necessarily mean they will not get the flu. I did not get my flu shot this year and I'm a little panicked. The OB ran out and so did the kid's Pedi so I basically put it off and did not check with any of the local clinics. I just hope I do not catch it or I will be totally kicking myself!! Kensley was a little whiny yesterday, but I did not really think anything of it because other than that she seems fined. She has basically been sleeping and crying all day. She has been running a 101 temp and just sounds and looks pitiful. So, I guess if she keeps this up we will head to the Pedi tomorrow. Kaden so far is fever free, but is coughing and sneezing. His could just be allergies, but at this point who knows!! So, instead of enjoying the beautiful day we are all couped up inside and I have been cleaning, washing my hands, and disinfecting like crazy.

There's No Place Like Home.....

Ken and I enjoyed our little get away to Tahoe, but like Dorthy said, "There's no place like home..." Ken and I were so excited to see our babies last night. To my surprise, I actually think they missed us:-) They had a blast going through our bags to find their surprises that we had brought them back. Kaden insisted on sleeping in his Lake Tahoe t-shirt last night and he insisted on wearing it again today. Shhhh....I think he likes it. Kensley also sported her Tahoe Tessie t-shirt today as well. Last night we put both of the kids in our bed and all curled up and went to sleep. It was nice to be back home!!!

Signing off from Tahoe

My next blog post will be back in Texas so, I guess I'm officially signing off from Lake Tahoe. I had to go out on a good note with some fabulous pictures. Ken and I enjoyed a beautiful sunset this evening and Ken took some great pics from our hotel window. I wanted to share these so here they are:

After a yummy dinner and a little gambling we are calling it a night. 5 O'clock is going to come very early tomorrow morning. We have enjoyed our little mini vacation, but we are ready to be back home. We miss our babies and are super excited to see them tomorrow. Well, good night everyone. We're officially signing off from Lake Tahoe.

We missed it......

Just posting quickly before dinner. I talked to Nanu about an hr or so ago and Kaden scored his very 1st goal at his soccer game today. Papu did not have time to get his camera ready in time to take a picture to share with us. Ken and I were so proud of him and I just had to quickly post to brag about our soccer stud!!! Go Kaden!!! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you and I wish we could have been there to see your 1st goal!!!

Hubby is out of the dog house:-)

Ken has redeemed himself from his poor tour guide duty yesterday and is out of the dog house:-) We had an awesome evening in Tahoe last night. We attended a happy hour/appetizer mixer yesterday evening. Of course, I could not drink so Ken had one for me:-) We then had an awesome 9 course and I'm not joking when I mean 9 course dinner. The restaurant we ate at last night was wonderful and I ate so much I really needed to be wheeled out!!! I could barley stay awake after dinner so we hit the hay around 11:30 last night.

Today we headed out of the hotel around 8 and had an awesome breakfast right next to the ski lift. Since I broke down and had pancakes for breakfast we did some walking in the brisk morning air and decided that we would do the sleigh ride today. Ken and I had never been on a sleigh ride before so this was a first for the both of us. It was really neat and we enjoyed it. However, it really made us miss the kids because this is something that they would have enjoyed. So, we can now scratch a sleigh ride off on our list of things to do in life. Eventually, when the kids are older we will plan to come back to Tahoe so that we can teach them to ski and we will take them on a sleigh ride.

We just got back to the hotel from our boat cruise of Lake Tahoe. This was so cool and Ken and I were both glad that we decided to take this tour. We had lunch out on the lake and then cruised for about 2 hours. The scenery was beautiful. I know Nanu and Papu would have loved the boat ride and scenery. They are definitely going to have to make this trip with us when we come back with the kids in a few year. One, they have to see the scenery, Two, Dad has got to give snow skiing a try since he loves to water ski. We have to cross that off on his list of things to do:-), and three maybe Ken and I can get in a date night:-)

The lake is spectacular and is blue as blue can be. The water is crystal clear. You actually have about 70 foot of visibility. This lake is a super deep lake. However, do not quiz me on all of the details of the depth and etc. I will use my pregnancy brain pass for that because I can not remember... I just know that it is really, really, really deep. The water temp stays around 61 degrees. There was actually ice in Emerald Bay and the yacht we were on cut right through it. It was pretty cool seeing all of the frozen ice slide across the frozen lake. We saw many other awesome sights long this tour. Some of them included, a water plane landing, a bald eagle that soared right in front of our boat, a viking castle, and many beautiful homes that only set you back 30-60 million. Not a bad price for a seasonal vacation home...pocket change right:-) The only bum deal of the boat ride was that both sets of our batteries went dead and they did not sell batteries on the boat. So, we got a few pictures, but not as many as we would have liked to have taken.

We are now about to head out to take the gondola to the top of Heavenly. That is the ski resort we can see out of our hotel window. Since, I can not ski with baby on board we can at least take the gondola and take in the scenery. We will probably then do some more shopping, eat dinner, maybe gamble a bit, and call it a night. We have to hit the road a 6am tomorrow to head back to the airport. So, I guess I better run so we can enjoy our last few hours of vacation. We have had a great time, but we are both super excited to see the kids tomorrow.

Oh honey you're fired!!!

Ken is officially fired from being a tour guide. Boy, did we have an adventure today. I am happy to report that I'm still alive to tell about it. After our nice breakfast in bed Ken ran to a small grocery store and got some bottled water and scope. Upon his return he said he ran into a hotel worker in the lobby and she gave a great recommendation on some shopping in Tahoe. So, we hit the snow walking. After about 5 miles of walking in the snow and ice I told Ken, we have to make a pit stop. I had to go potty. Imagine that:-) After our pit stop at Mickey D's and asking a couple of locals we realized our final destination was too far to walk and besides we ran out of sidewalk because it was snowed under. I was not about to walk in a foot of snow so we we waited at the bus stop and figured we would catch the bus. HELLOOO, I am banning public transportation from here on out. The bus was nasty and it was full of crazy people. Yes, I really do mean mentally ill people. The lady next to us was chugging down her bottle of everclear and she stunk to high heaven. I made Ken sit beside her. She kept hallucinating and laughing. I was like oh my...Ken what in the hell have you gotten us into. Then after a few more stops and a few more drunks and bums entered the bus I was in fear that we were going to get mugged. One chick, well I think chick kept eying my purse and I had a death grip on it. We finally arrived to THE SHOPPING SPOT...NOT I think we actually arrived in the ghetto. We got off the bus and right back on. The place was a dive and there was no way in heck I was going to walk around there. Are you ready for the icing on the cake??? The crazy lady was still on the bus chugging her everclear and another bum got onto the bus, walked right up to her, sat down and just started macking down. It was disgusting!!! Now Austin can be weird and I've seen my fair share of crazy things, but this scene has really beat all that I have ever seen. I swear everyone on the bus had a brown paper bag with liquor and smelled. Ken got sick to his stomach and I was about to puke because of the smell and the motion of the bus. Finally, we got off the crazy train and had lunch back in the tourist area. After, this little adventure I was ready to head back to the hotel. We did some shopping for the kids and headed back to the hotel for some gambling. So, today we learned a very valuable lesson....CHECK OUT THE SPOT OF RECOMMENDATION PERHAPS ON THE INTERNET BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY GO THERE. ALWAYS DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND RESEARCH!!! OH YEAH, STEER CLEAR OF PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL FIND OR PICK UP. Well, I'm off to shower because I just feel dirty from the bus ride. YUCK!!

Reporting from Tahoe again

My massage rocked yesterday!!! Let me say it again, "MY MASSAGE ROCKED!!!" Can you tell I'm still excited about it?? My prenatal massage yesterday was probably one of the best massages I have ever gotten. The masseuse worked out every knot and kink in my back. So, I feel great this morning!! My only wish is that I would hit it big and I would just bring the masseuse home with me and get daily massages for the rest of my pregnancy. Hey a girl can dream right??

Well, I guess I better keep dreaming because Ken and I are far from hitting it big. After last night we are down from gambling. I wish that I could report that we are up, but NO:-) I guess the bright side is that we are having fun gambling our money away. Last night we had a great dinner and after we called it quits at the tables we headed back to the room and I ordered room service at midnight and got a huge hot fudge sunday. Yes, I've been a very bad girl!!!! Kohen enjoyed the sunday too and gave mommy several kicks to thank me. After Kohen settled down, I slept like a baby after a full belly of ice cream. YUM-O

So, we slept in until about 6:45 time morning...haha that internal clock is the best wake up call ever...NOT. I called Nanu as soon as I woke up this morning to check on the kids. I dreamed about Kaden last night so I had to call right away. They are having a blast and Kensley actually talked to me on the phone this morning. Hearing her sweet voice was music to my ears. She just kept saying, "Nanu, it's Mommy." Kaden on the other hand was too busy to talk. He was too busy harassing Nanu's pugs. Tonight my parents are taking the kids to a rodeo. I know the kids will have a great time and plus I'm sure they will get spoiled rotten on souvenirs and junk food. Hey babies, eat some ranchos and cotton candy for Mommy!!!

Our morning is off to a great start. I just finished my 2nd cup of coffee, checked my email, and stuff my face with breakfast in bed. As soon as I get my lazy butt out of bed and get dressed we are going to hit the town and do some sight seeing and shopping. Stayed tuned for more reports from Tahoe.

Arrived in Tahoe and Missing My Babies

Ken and I got the opportunity for basically an all paid expense trip to Lake Tahoe with his company. After much contemplation we decided that we would go. We kissed our babies good bye on Tuesday night and of course I cried and cried when they left with Nanu and Papu. The kids did not even look back. They were super excited to be going with Nanu and Papu. I know they are in the best hands in the entire world, but still I felt really bad for leaving them. Mommy guilt kicked in big time. I slept very little Tuesday night. The house was just way too quite without the kids not being there. This little vacation is the 1st time in almost 8 years that we have gone somewhere with out kids. Actually, our last vacation alone was our honeymoon!!

So, after about 10 calls checking in with Nanu and a full of flying we arrived in Lake Tahoe. This is the 1st time that I have flow being pregnant and boy was it a PITA!! I had to pee 4 times from Austin to Phoenix and had to make 2 more potty runs on the flight from Phoenix to Tahoe. It was quite embarrassing having to get up so many times, but hey when a pregnant woman has to pee she has to pee!!

The scenery is beautiful here. It is crazy seeing all of the snow capped mountains. We never see snow in Texas so the snow is pretty surreal. We have an awesome view from our room. We can see the ski lift and the ski resort to our left and we have a spectacluar view of Lake Tahoe on the right. It really does look like a picutre from a post card. I will post pics as soon as we are able to download.

So far, we are only about 30 down from gambling so that is not too bad. Ken is wanting to hit the tables tonight after our dinner so that should be fun. I plan on meeting Ken for lunch today and then I'm off to get a prenatal massage this afternoon and I am sure I will really enjoy that. It seems like most of our functions are centered around food so that is a good and bad thing. I have a dr appt on Monday after we return and I hope I'm not in too much trouble!! There are no scales here so I can not check my weight....I guess I should not worry since we are on vacation.

I just called Nanu and Papu again and the kids are doing great. I still miss them like crazy and I'm excited to go shopping for them after Ken gets in from his meeting today. We basically have free days to do what ever we want to do after today so I'm sure most of that time will be spent shopping for them. Ken and I will spent the rest of our time here enjoying our little "babymoon" as one of my friends call this trip. This will probably we the last trip for a while by ourselves since Kohen will be arriving in May. So, I'm off to relax, maybe gamble a bit, stuff my face, and of course phone home several more times to check on the kids. Well, stay tuned for more update from Tahoe.

Super Day/Super Bowl

Today was a super day. The weather was beautiful, the kids got lots of outdoor play time, Kensley took an awesome nap and I got some much needed Mommy time. As soon as Kensley went down for her afternoon nap I hit the door running. It is amazing how super some new maternity clothes, a few new very badly needed new bras, an eyebrow wax, and a pedicure can make you feel. I came back from my 2 hour power shopping/pampering trip feeling relaxed, energized, and a bit hungry!! My super husband grilled some very yummy burgers for dinner and we watched some of the super bowl with our super children. I have to admit I sort of enjoyed the super bowl. I am a college football fan and not much of a pro football fan, but the game was actually good and of course I enjoyed the half time show. The kids put on a super half time dancing performance to the music provided by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. I thought Eli did a super job and I was glad to see that NY pulled off the win. The kids were super tired and went to bed super fast. Ken and I then did some super cleaning and yes, I have to mention my super husband again because he took on the task I dread the most and did a super job of mopping the downstairs. Well, I'm off to take care of my super bad heart burn and I hope that I get some super good sleep!! Hope everyone has a super good Monday!!! Good night!!

Update on Gatlynn

I'm sure most all of you remember our sick cat and I'm sad to report that we got some pretty depressing news yesterday. Ken called me yesterday afternoon and told me that Gigi had called and the vet recommended that she put Gatlynn to sleep. Gigi was devastated and hated to report the sad news to us. It was way harder on her than us because she had become really attached to Gat over the past month or so that she was in her care. Apparently, Gat's liver enzymes were through the roof and the vet had tried for weeks the most aggressive treatment that he could preform and she was not getting any better. He told Gigi that at the most she maybe had a month left, but there were no guarantees. The toxoplasomosis had really taken a toll on her body and had basically put her in a position beyond repair and her quality of life was rapidly depleting. So, Gigi did what she had to do and stayed with Gat until the end.

Yesterday was a really hard day for Gigi. We sent Gigi flowers and a card today in hopes that it would brighten her day.

Gigi, thanks again for everything that you did for Gatlynn. Like we said in the card:

Thank you for all the love and care you gave to Gatlynn. We know that the last month
that she spent with you was the best few weeks of her life. We are super grateful
that you provided her with the best care that you could provide. She had the best of
the best. Please don't be sad. She is in a better place now and is no longer in pain.
Thanks for everything. We love you!!
